I was getting a couple of hundred and I was going "2485? he's got to be joking" until one time it just sort of kept going and ended up at somewhere around 1500. You really weren't kidding. It's really fun. I think it's the noise. Without the sound effects it would be pretty boring.
Would you believe I had it on mute for the first dozen times or so? I didn't even know it had sound until I'd been playing it for a while...
And yeah, I've kinda got some of the basics behind it figured out: each tile has about a 50% chance of setting off another tile, and it can set off up to two each activation. The best ones are where a tile activates it's two neighbors and is then reactivated from one of those same neighbors to activate... another... neighbor... Neighbor's not a very fun word to say.
But even at that, my best reactions are the ones I do randomly, rather than the ones that i put any thought at all into.
