Spring Break, Part One

So, Right. My Spring Break.
That's the reason I've been disturbingly abscent from the Internet for the past week (for the most part, anyways). So, I'm now going to try and make up for an entire week of posts, and let you all in on what I've been doing. I'll warn you now, it'll be long. So Just Sit Back, Relax, and Enjoy.
March First - It Starts
This was the day I'd been waiting for through all of February. Sure, we all were - it started Spring Break, and February in general just tends to bite.
I think I got up at about 10:00, though I donno why. Showered, dressed, muddled about my room for a little while - I was meeting Claire at 1:30 or so - a little later than that - and couldn't leave till after Noon. At about 11:30, 12:00, I went into North and get some food - I think they had Onion Rings, and those are always good.
As I was finishing up, I saw Meg and me and her started talking. She was going home to Orlando, FL, and her boyfriend, Raul, was going with her. Sadly for them, Meg's parents are rather strict on the 'relationship' issue (You were in his room?) and the two of them had gotten closer than last I'd heard (we'll just say they both USED to be virgins...). And they were gonna be at her house all ten days. I thought a few hours with Mina not being able to touch Claire would be hard. Geeze.
So anyways, I got onto the road after burning a CD which I've lovingly labled "Status: Blank". That CD served me well on the trip, and was rather appropriot. It's got songs like "Bodies" and "Schism" and "Kick Some Ass" and I got lost on the way trying to get to Claire - she gave me the wrong address. After a few turn arounds and still no success, and her phone dying, I stopped the car and waited for her to call me back on Courney's phone.
She finally did, from a bus full of screaming/singing/giggling girls. She managed to direct me down the road to a Taco Bell where she was, and so I went there. I went in to use the bathroom and saw some girls sitting at a table. When I came out, a new girl was standing with them, her back a wall of blonde curls. I went to go sit out in my car when that self-same girl came out after me and called to me. It was Claire - I'd barely recognized her with her curled hair and make-up. She was beautiful.
We had dinner then, and being it was friday, I had a few bean burritos. She had nachos, and then we had to run to get her to the bus. However, the bus had moved, and her friends were already headed across to it. I offered to give her a ride, and she accepted. ^_^ Her friends didn't think it was so cool. I followed the bus back to the school, and we chatted with some of her friends until we could go inside.
Most of it was pretty cool. We watched the other show choirs perform, and i nuzzled up to Claire most of the night (to the giggling of her friends) - I'd had a rough month, leave me alone. I gotta talk with one of her friends, Kat, who was really cool - liked Zelda (and other video games) and she plays Magic, so if Claire plays her cards right (ok, bad pun) she could have a sparring partner.
The thing ended, I guess, at about 11:00, and we both got into my car before we realized we still had Courney's cell phone. Oh well, I think she'll get it back, eventually. We drove back and got to her house at about midnight - everyone was asleep. Well, Paul was up, but in the Play Room. Chris and her dad had an early plane to catch, and her mom is rarely up past 10:00. So, the two of us got comfortable on her leather sofa (a very nice leather sofa) and watched 'The Last Unicorn', which I'd recently aquired offa Amazon.com, credit due to Mel. ^_^
It was the first time in years that I'd seen it, and Claire had never seen it. I think there were a few things left desired, and I'd like to get the book to see if certain plotholes are filled, but the Butterfly wasn't as annoying as I remember, and it's still a great movie. After that, we managed to get up to bed, and slept a good eight to ten hours. Well, almost.
March Second - Heaven and Hell
I guess it must've been about 1am when we got in bed, likely after 2:00 before I was asleep. At about 7:00, I think - maybe earlier, I donno - Claire came up and told me she had to run out to the airport to get her dad his driver's liscence, and she'd be back in a couple of hours. At 10:00 I started to wonder where she was - laying in bed not wanting to move, I couldn't see if her car was back. Around 11:00 or so, I finally dragged myself out of bed and went down to her couch to find her. Paul was once again in the play room, her mom was out hunting, and Chris and her dad were in the air. She was in her 'bed', and I spent the next hour getting her up. We went up to her room and gave Mina a call, as we three were supposed to have lunch and a movie together.
I've already given the restrictions set upon us while we were with Mina. We picked her up and had sushi for lunch. Mina and I helped Claire finish her soup, which was much too spicy, anyways. ^_^
It was a 3:00 movie or something we went to see, Queen of the Damned (which I didn't think was a 1/2-bad vampire movie), and then Mina was invited back home to have Dinner with us. It was raining wonderfully when we got out of the mall, and we made it back to Claire's. They shot pool while I muddled on the computer some, then Paul and his friend Barry came up and I argued with Barry on why Mac are the Devil - kid's got potential, I'll give him that much. I think my argument was flimsy at best - I have little to back up my claim - but he couldn't break it, even if Claire was on his back about his sources. Afterwards we had a tickle-fight or something, and Mina found how violent I can get when tickled. ^_^*
We ordered take-out Chinese and I had beef-fried rice for the first time in a long while. And an Egg Roll. And helped Mina with her shimp-fried rice. And got a fortune cookie. We watched the old Vampire Hunter D, which was REALLY bad (they're in ecstacy ><*) but I'm told that the DVD one is supposed to be better - a remake or something. After dinner et al, at about 10:00, Mina had to go home, so we drove her. Claire had told me t'get in the back, so when we dropped her off, both she and I got out, and she gave me a kiss on the cheek. Claire wanted to lash her. ^_^*
Claire and I got back home and Barry and Paul had taken up nest in the Play Room for the night, so we cleared up the den/TV room and settled once more on the couch. We watched Cube, which was really good, though the end... I agree with Leslie, though, Leaven and Worth make a nice, if lop-sided, couple. After that, me and Claire watched Battle Bots and South Park, after which we shared cookies and had a nice conversation until about 5am. ^_^;; it was nice.
We got up to go to bed at 5:00 because her mom was getting up at 6:00 to walk to dogs, and we wanted to have some semblance of sleep, yes? She let me sleep in her room again and went off to Chris's room, and we got another seven or so hours of sleep.
March Third - The Wind Down
We got up again between 11:00 and 12:00, and when I say 'we' I mean 'I'. I wandered into Chris's room, where Claire was, and 'got her up' again. Around noon her mom called us down for breakfast. I admit, knowing her mother and brother were up and about made me a bit jumpy. ^_^;;
Her mom made us eggs and sausage and biscuits. I LOVE biscuits. I'm a real bread kinda guy. Then we went up to the Play Room to see if I could figure out anything on her computer - which I couldn't, it looks like a hardware problem to me. One of these days I'll have to learn some of that. We had a few cookies and then played a game or two of Magic before going to Wendy's for an early dinner. We had to rush back to get her to either a 5 or 5:45 meeting, and I sat out in the car. When we got home, I didn't stay very long, and after our usual ordeal of saying good-bye, I left. I laughed and told Claire next time I was going to park on the other side of the driveway, behind the trees, instead of infront of the fense in clear view of the kitchen window. And so, at about 8:00, I was on 64, heading south towards Virginia Beach.
