*deep breath*
I'll try and keep the Post-Con Depression out of this, and try to keep all the facts in, but here goes...

Katsucon Ten: The Con Which Did In Fact Die*
Well, I headed out to the convention around Noon or so... I had initially had Anastasiya coming with me, but she backed out, and when I asked Chris if he wanted to come, he sounded less-than-interested, so I just got antsy and left.

The day Started off grandly -- I got stuck in the Metro Doors as they closed on y backpack while I was getting in. Some decent highschooler guys who had entered before me helped pry them off and get me in, so that was nice. The ride went decently well -- about 45min on the metro, listening to my Genophage (not a reerence to my brother) Data Disc. I got out at Crystal City and after going around the block once, figured out where South was and headed down toward the hotel.

The trek gets more familiar every time. I've decided that I will never again drive to Katsucon (assuming I continue to go -- Anime seems to appeal less and less to me, as do the 17-years-and-younger ladies who swarm such gatherings), because the walk is just too much fun to pass up. I like being autonomous. I like being on my own. It's a good feeling.

First thing I went up to the room where Alyce said we were staying and saw the whole group -- Becky, Britanny, Joe, Alyce, and their friends Sarah, Tom, and... uhm.. What was her name? I know I've met her before somewhere... Anyways, Costumes were adorned (not me, mind you -- I haven't cosPlayed since my time with Leslie) and pictures were taken. Time was spent meadering the Artists' Ally and Dealer's room. I ended up speding too much money on an Amano Artbook and a selection of nice Artists' Alley pieces (pictures to come at a later date). I saw Ben (Claire's cousin) almost imediately on Friday, and we chatted for a bit. It was cool t'see him again. I also ran into Taryn at the McDonald's (where I ate, against my better judgement, thrice). Very late on Friday I ran into Kim, who glomped me true-type, throwing her arms and legs around me in a flying tackle-hug. -smiles- It was a nice thing. She's gone an died her hair pitch-back, though, which borders on a misfortune, and got a pircing in the spot right below the lower lip... I guess some people like that. -shrugs- as typical she was flanked by several sketchy-type guys, but I may be biased. We chatted for a bit before I went off with Sarah to watch Lupin the 3rd, folloed by Otaku No Video, which was pretty good. We got back upstairs at a late hour. I wrote something for Valntine's Day, but I don't know if I'll post it. I don't think it really gets my point across. -shrugs- Too much nostalgia.

The next morning I got up and promptly went down to Wizziwig to get my copy of Megatokyo, Vol 1 signed by Piro and Seraphim. and I did. w00+ I didn't get the Miho poster I wanted, but I can order it off their site, and maybe that Miho Blanket, too... I like Miho. -nods to this-

Uhm, did some other stuff that day, too, but nothing stands out... The Whole Group was in a Cosplay skit for Brittany -- I didn't get it, something about a Chair, but apparently it's a Cosplay in-joke or something. Anyways, Sarah, Tom and I were Stage Ninjas -- no real parts, we just manipulated props. It was fun, and stuff. And was ambiguously hit on by an ambiguously-gay guy. Though, his motto for the night was "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, so long as you pick up chicks," so who knows. Whee. Either way, he was pretty cool, and stuff.

I half-contemplated leaving then, after the skit. I had my artbook, and my autograph, and some random artpieces... And there was nothing much I wanted to do on Sunday... But Sarah got me to go out with her again (she and I spent the majority of the Con t'gether, actually), and on our way down we bumped into Ben as he was leaving and his little friend Jenny. Ben had to jet, but Jenny hung out with us a bit more, and though I tried to get Jenny and Sarah to go to Sushi with me, but they got me to go to McDonalds in the end (curse them!), and then back up to Jenny's Friends' room, where we all hung out and chatted and stuff for a while until the dance began.

Of course, we never made it TO the dance. After all becoming sepparated and then rejoining, the Immense Wall of Stench kept us out, so we just sat around and chatted. Jenny and I got into a wrestling match when she lept at me and tried to tickle me -- I pinned her within second each time, which was fun. -smiles- Of course, it ellicited crude comments abundantly from Mr. Fanboy and Mr. Dirty-Old-Man, which was not cool. But I tried to ignore them.

Jenny and most of her friends lived in the area, though, so they one-by-one started leaving around 3am or so... The evening ended at with her curled on my lap waiting to be picked up around 5 or 6, at which time I went upstairs and went to ed on my two-chair-bed.

I woke up today around 9 or 10, packed, and left... Walked back to the Metro, got my car, went home... picked up my mail/packages, saw my family who I love so much, had dinner... and came back to the Dorm.

And that, as they say, is that. Or something. I think I have some pictures around here somewhere that I might post. or something.

Have a nice night, folks.

Heeheehee...

-laughs- Ah, so you know it, then? You might have enjoyed the skit -- we had a propped TV, and Britanny and Alyce made this Ringu-type video with chairs and mutilated moogles and stuff. They played that, and then Chair came out of the TV, and as our characters died they screamed things like "Why won't you die?!" and "You're not even funny anymore!" and "No one even knows where you're from!" The crowd loved it. Sarah and I were simple Stage Ninjas, but Tom was the Chair Ninja -- he walked crab-like behind the TV as we brought it on stage so that no one would see Chair until the opportune moment, and then he was the one who put Chair through the TV.

Hahaaa...

Heee, Alyce makes me feel almost-important. -smiles-
I'll get pictures up in a day or two... I actually didn't take all that many -- a few of Britanny, some of Becky, a couple of you... We'll see.
Oh, and Sarah gave me her email addy, but when I tried to send her the pics, it wouldn't go through. Could you get me her address -- maybe I can't read her handwriting.

Yes, it is saddness. -laughs- It's funny, though, as it was a pretty small convention, and we still missed eachother most of the time.

OH! I think I know what Chair is. Although I've long since forgotten why it's supposed to be funny.
