Wow, it's been a while sincve I posted anything of import... This weekend was quite enjoyable.
I hesitate to cut this, for fear that no one will look behind the tags, but I'm just a dork anyways, so blah.
Friday I drove out to Front Royal, half to pick my brother up for his Fall Break, and half to see Suzannah. I was a half-hour late because of Traffic, but had Gene let her know I was coming. Front Royal, I have decided, likes me; Everytime I've been out there, it's decided to rain. This time was no different, and she and I went for a four-mile walk in the rain, around the fields and through the woods out there. We chatted about nothing important, and then when we got back to Christendom, drove into Front Royal and had dinner. Then, I dropped her off at her Dorm, picked up Gene, and we went home. Of course, both Suzannah and I forgot that I wanted to pick up a copy of her own literary works -- she's an English major, and I'm interested in that sort of thing.
Anyways, it was two hours to get Gene home, then another hour to get back to my Dorm, where I managed to get to bed before 3am.
Saturday started at about 9:00, about when I got up and did all my fun-type morning stuff, in time to meet Anastasyia at the Metro. We got in the car and headed out to the Maryland Renaissance Faire, though we were a little late due to poor directions and ambiguous street names. It was all good in the end. First thing we did, if memory serves, was go to the Dress Shop and get her a medieval-style dress. It looked REALLY nice on her, too, with a green skirt, brown shirt, and black corset. Some of the people walking around looked like they'd stepped right out of a Fantasy game (including a few who wore little more than a couple strips of leather and some metal -- and it was cold!). It was hard to tell who there was more anachronistic, those in Costumes of those in Streetclothes.
Afterwards, we went over to Anastasyia's friend Jean's house, where we hung out for a bit, had cream soda and pumpkin pie, and learned a bit much about Micheal's
personal-love life... And from there, I took Anastasyia down to my house, where The Clan was all together, celebrating birthdays for my brother Josh (16), my aunt Susie (33), and my Grandma (66). I'm always afraid people will be overwhelmed in the literal sea of people which is my family, but she seemed to enjoy herself, which is always good. Then we went back to my room, watched a little bit of a Russian movie (which I really think I like alot, so far), and then I had to take her home at 2am.
Sunday was mostly uneventful. I think I slept until 1:00 or so, meaning I probably got about 10 hours of sleep. The first thing I did was clean up my floor, throwing away trash and picking up books and papers. Then I raised my bed up about three feet on it's legs so I could move my dresser underneath it. this opened up ALOT of space for me, so I moved my crates and stuff under there, cleaned my desk off, and did my laundry. I went into Georgetown with Chris to go to mass with him (he wanted to check out a church down there), and we were talking about seeing "Kill Bill" but it never happened. I will see that movie. I will.
Then I played Baldur's Gate for a few hours, went to bed, and that was that. I'm picking up Trevor and Rose from BWI this afternoon, and we're going to pick up Anastasyia and go out to dinner, and such and stuff. Whee.

Date: 2003-10-20 09:12 am (UTC)Don't worry, Andrew, you're not the only person left alive who hasn't seen "Kill Bill"... ::scowls and burns the guy responsible for Japan's stupid film release dates in effigy:: Who knows, maybe we'll even end up seeing it the same day...kinda.
What Russian movie did you start watching?

Date: 2003-10-20 09:34 am (UTC)The movie was "Obiknovenoe Chudo," or "A Usual Wonder" in English. Being who you are, I would suggest you see it if you can. A warning, though: First, it's an older movie, and the style of the film shows it. The most annoying thing being they fast-forward all the horseback-riding scenes so it looks like they're moving faster than they are, but... I really like the story. It amuses me. And I think the girl is pretty. -nods-

Date: 2003-10-20 07:23 pm (UTC)Yeah, "Kill Bill" is gonna be great. Even more than a live-action anime, it's supposed to be a true film buff's dream come true - myriad film styles such as anime, Hong Kong shoot-em-ups, spaghetti Westerns, kung fu, chambara, and more are all spun together. Apparently each big fight is shot in a different style.
Yeah, that movie's gonna turn me into a big geek puddle.
