See-Saw?

So, I asked Suzannah out to the movies, specifically to see 'Saw'. Her reply was "a tentative 'yes,' though subject to radical, immediate, and unpredictable change if my sense gets the better of me." She scares easily -- so do I, but I figure that's half the point. Since this exchange, though, I've stumbled upon mixed reviews for 'Saw'. Some really liked it, some really hated it, some thought it was too gorey, and some didn't think it was gorey enough. Personally, I'm not a great fan of gore, and I was just sold on the promise of a psychological thriller.

Has anyone out there seen 'Saw'? What was your impression of it? Leslie, I'm looking at you, in particular, if you've seen it. It seems to be compared with 'Se7en' a bit -- what can anyone tell me about that?

What other movies are out there, as possible alternatives? I just saw 'The Incredibles' (good) and 'Team America' (bad).
