Ninty-Nine Bottles Of Beer On The Wall....
Feb. 3rd, 2002 01:34 amTonight I consumed more alcohol than I ever have in my entire life. I really don't know if it was the taste that I liked (generally, it's made me rather sick) or just me trying to prove that I could take it as well as anyone else. Truthfully, all I really feel right now is dizzy. REALLY dizzy. I had a Pina Colata (REALLY good, I might add) a little rum and coke, about 12oz of wine, and a strawberry daqueri.
Yes, for me, drinking is technically illegal. But I don't agree with that. And while one should really abide the law regardless of what one thinks of it... In a sense, yes, I have done something wrong, and would not be surprised if I confessed it the next time I go. But I believe the reason America had the trouble with alcohol that it has is at least partially due to this inane age restriction. You'll notice Europe doesn't have the alcoholism America has. Anyways, though, this was really my first encounter with hard liquor, and I fear I'll regret it in the morning, which is why I borrowed 2 tylonol from Becky.
In other news, I got up at 12 after going to bed at 2, giving me 10hrs of sleep. I then got up, checked my mail, and had lunch, which was more or less breakfast. I had intended on playing Diablo and/or watching more Trigun today, but ended up going to Blockbuster with Becky this afternoon. We picked up Chasing Amy, which we had meant to watch tonight, but stayed over at Michele's watching Gladiator and drinking. My friend, Jack, who plans on becomming a priest, is the one who got us involved, which is in itself humorous. If he makes it through seminary, though, Jack will be a good priest. I dare say he's more Catholic than I am.
Before going out with Becky I talked with my mom online, which was cool. She's not all that concerned with the fact that I bombed a Calc test, which really takes a load off my shoulders. They're too cool, my parents - they don't know how good they are to me. My mom told me that Jen had really been taken with Claire, and really thought I was serious about this one, where as my gramma liked Claire emensly, but was sure that i wasn't going to get too involved too quickly. My mom assured me that she knew the reality of it lay somewhere inbetween.
I should really like to get together with Jack and Becky, and Brooklyn (Michelle) and all them more often, not because of the alcohol, but because I really should have good friends on campus. Tonight was a good night. Regardless of when I get up, I'm sure tomarrow will be an early morning, and I hope to get to gramma's for Super Bowl. Good night, my friends, and I shall see you on the morrow.
