hmm. i got that result, too. which i can agree with, i suppose - especially the "very emotional" part. which is strange, since capricorns are normally stamped "cold hearted and void of feeling" until it comes to money. oy.

But we few too-loving Capricorns know better, don't we? ^___^

Oddly enough, I got the Notification of Leslie's comment before Mel's.  ^_^;;
Yeas, Capricorns are known to be cold-hearted, which I don't see in any of my Carpricorned Friends (Gene may be quiet when you don't know him, but he's not cold).
Us proud Tauri, though, are known to be sensitive, emotional, and stubborn. Which I am.  ^_~

When you really break it down, a lot of the core traits of every sign apply to everyone ... it's just the way we use it in our lives and to what intense extent, yes? Some would say I am the most stubborn person they know (ie: exboyfriend said I was very much like a badger, that I'd dig myself into a hole and then defend myself to the death with anyone who crossed my path) ... and yet, I'd bet quite a few other people, having seen only several small bits of me, would consider me a very easy person who'd never go to bat over anything.

For example... you being stubborn could be taken many ways. You're not what I'd call stubborn... more... hmm. I guess the world would be passionate, or willful. Willing to explain in great detail every bit of your choice or belief and back it up with your assured attitude. You're not actually forceful about it to the degree of which I would consider stubborn.

Whooooooooooo, look at me GO! I have talked in the past few days, even though you wouldn't know it by the length of this reply. The sad part is that not a single thing I say makes sense. Awwww, well. Too bad, soooooo sad. ^__^;

-mel

ps: notification of a reply often comes late and in strange order. or rather, it always did when i used livejournal. i'd have a reply for hours with no e-mail note... and then the second someone replied to that, i'd get an e-mail. weeeeird. but what is normal in the computer world, ne?

See, I'd be one of those people who would say "you're not stubborn, Mel," but then, I would quite readily expect you to dig in if it were something you believed it. Boyfriends (Ex's in particular) have a way of being to harsh.

Me on the other hand... -shrugs- I donno, I might claim to be stubborn, though at the same time it may only be connotation which we disagree on. Similarly, it could be argued whether I'm arrogant of just self-confident, when in reality they mean the same thing.

LOL Mel, you make wonderful sense! And you shouldn't cut yourself off like that. -nudge- I quite enjoy long, thoughtful comments on my journal, and you make better arguments than you give yourself credit for, I believe.

PS - yeah, it's happened a number of times. I don't enjoy it, neither, cause I never 'know' when I have comments. Course, I check this thing compulsively, anyways, so...

::giggles:: I don't mean just you necessarily...but Tauruses in general. Hell...Capricorns are supposed to be boring, unimaginative, serious, grounded, materialistic...did I leave anything out, Mel? Lemme tell ya, it’s a darn good thing we have "well of compassion" and "undying capacity for love" thrown in there as well, or else I might just have to complain to these people and ask them where they get off pasting a big "BORING...AND MONEY-GRUBBING TO BOOT" sign on the foreheads of everyone born from December 22nd to January 19th. It's grounds for a libel suit!!

before you die, you see... the CAPRICORN!

Nope, I think you got all that... oh, wait, what about apathetic and uncaring? Seriously, I've seen that written about Capricorns too. And man, you thin Taurus has a temper? We're supposed to have a long never-ending explosive one. Mwa ha.

Add to that forehead stamp the following: MESS WITH US AND DIE!

::giggle:: Yeah, uh, Andrew? Don't you have a temper? C'mon.... cough it up. We'll all still love ya. ;)

The Bull Charges

-Grins-
Oh, yes, I admit that I do have quite a temper. I can get REALLY upset, if you let me. The point was that Leslie's never seen me mad, in all the six years she's known me, except maybe once or twice. The same goes for Louis and Rachel, and I think the three of them know me quite well.

It takes quite a bit to get me mad. Not because I hold it in or psychological stuff like that, but because things just don't bother me. When I do get mad, though... ^_^;; We'll just say I haven't put a hole in any walls or anything -- but it's in the family.

Worry not, though -- I'm afraid I scare people when I say 'when I get mad, it's bad.' The fact of the matter is that it doesn't happen often, and it doesn't happen for small things -- it often doesn't even happen for big things (Though I'm sure if you know me long enough you'll find the things that tend to set me off the most). Or something.

aha! seee, though.. i'm the same way. i almost never get honestly mad at people. and if/when i do... it's normally not long lasting. but oh, heaven help the person or people i'm mad at. because if you've pushed me that far, you must have done something horribly, unmistakingly WRONG. ::laugh:: only i always say i got my temper from my father, who had quite an explosive one at that. ah, well. at least i have mom's good sense and a somewhat level head.

(and the funny thing is that when actually confronted, i know when to back down most times. to let it go. many a huge fight with senta has been avoided in such a fashion. one morning, many years ago, i said something to her - because she was bad-mouthing mom, sortof - and she was quick to shove me into a wall, get in my face and tell me off. it was our one really major fight, although several small ones have followed as a result of my dating people/making new friends. she pretty much hates everyone i've dated and that leads me to fight back verbally. i mean... part of me still loves the people of my past. it's not cool for other people to bash them!)

wheeeeeee, mel goes on a tangent. again. ^__^; ... and now, i'm going because (dot dot dot - keep reading) ... of the reason stated below for not getting on aim. :P

(i can't get on aim because dinner's gonna be ready in all of 5 minutes and i'd just have to go anyway. ::nudge:: )

...'night, andrew!

!!!

That is not a tangent by any stretch! Infact, you just hit on one of those 'buttons' of mine. Infact, on but two occations I can remember being truely angry at anyone. The first was with a girl who, not knowing anything about Jean aside from the fact I liked her, started bad-mouthing her. You have no IDEA how mad that got me (my temper's rising just thinking about it, nearly 5 years after the fact). The second more recent time was when a guy who honestly doesn't know any better was making sexual comments about several girls I care for, and I very nearly bit his 'effing head off. I was most DEFINATELY snapping at him, much as I was trying to reign in my temper. You just don't... GO there, y'know?

Both sides of my family -- Italian and German -- have harsh tempers, and on occation I've seen it from both my parents, and most especially from mom Mom's dad and my Dad's mom. My mom's brother put a whole in his bedroom wall once, and my brother, Gene (quiet little Gene) has put two or three wholes in different walls. I think Tim punched through a door once, too. Josh really has a temper, though it's calmed down a bit as he grew up.

LOL And quite alright, Ms. Melissa. You know it's always a pleasure to see you around, in any case.  ^__^  Have a good evening.

Yes. I always resented the Capricorn report and gave up in reading it. Always though in the end that I was a mix of the sign next to mine (Aqua ... since I fall on such a cusp of Cappy), and the great influence of my mother being a Cancer and my always being around her. Who knows?

... I've met some Capricorns that are very textbook with their attitude and how they live. Senta is one of them and it's forever bothered me. She's terribly tight with money, very void of most empathetic feelings, etc etc... like, every bad thing ever said about people born in that sign.

I used to have a birthday book, which gave a lot of person info for every day of every month... and I remember that the information listed for the 18th, as well as the people born that day, always reminded me of myself. Very silly on the outside, very serious on the inside, highly romantic and idealistic with their dreams/goals... as well as being totally cursed with bad luck in love (ie: Cary Grant. Married tons of times, always wanted to have a great relationship & lots of kids.... and never got that until the very end of his long life).

Man do I miss that birthday book. T___T Seems Capricorns are also prone to losing or misplacing things. Arg. >_

I always liked those birthday books better than the all-encompassing "sign" books...they seemed to get it a lot more correct when they broke it down to individual days.

How are you doing lately, Mel? Did you have a good holiday?

I'm doing okay. How about you?

...my holiday was good. Small and full of too much white nasty snow falling all in a clump of 4' .... but it's winter. What am I to expect? If I wanted sun, I guess I should be in Florida, right?

How are your holiday? School going okay? (Happy Belated Birthday!)

I'm pretty good. We have horrible, disgusting, chill-you-straight-to-the-bone snow here right now, too...but I'm managing to stay pretty happy. With you in Cali and all, I'd expect you to be warmer...but you're up north, aren't you? Poor sweetness.

The holidays were kinda tough for me, with familial problems popping up a lot, so it's good to be back at school, even though most of the problems have righted themselves. School, for its part, is quite good, except for the fact that I'd like to just be here, without the obligation of class. ::grins:: Guess I should just quit being lazy. ^___^

By the way, I like that you got Lucette on that quiz I made. I think of you whenever I read her character in Ada.
