Hmmmm, not to be out done by my cousin, who has posted a New Years Eve post (well, 1/2 post) I too shall post on last night.
As it was, we had invited many people, knowing most wouldn't show - in particular cause they'd all flown to Dallas, TX. Put's a damper on things, yeeees. But, my dad's cousin and her kids (Keith and Nick) were supposed t'come once their dad got back from work, and so mom, true to form, made us pick up the house.
Pushing 7:00 at night (with an expected arrival at 5) dad went to call them and found a message from earlier that morning saying something'd happened at work, so they likely weren't gonna make it. Of course, we hadn't gotten the call.
This, however, isn't all bad news. You see, with the size of my family alone, we ARE a party. ^_^ And aside from that, it meant more mini quiche for me!
Mmmmmmm, mini quiche....
Sometime around, uhm, sometime, I'd hopped online (not EXATLY hoping to see someone) and talked with Nifer. The poor girl was stuck at home, at about 9pm your time, and her parents and grandfather were all asleep. So she'd decided to entertain herself with a lil drink and online solitaire. On the plus side, she was winning.
Poor girl.
I had t'get off for dinner, and then we watched a Double Feature - The Princess Diaries and Left Behind. The diaries was pretty cool - oddly humorous, the girl was quite pretty (showing once again how ephermeral *big word for not lasting* beauty is) and, uhm, there was something else...But she was cute. As for 'Left Behind', it was most preciecly like an episode of 'Touched By An Angel' except it lasted for 2 hours and wasn't very interesting. At all. Lucky for us, my dad came up with some good MST2000-esque quips, so it wasn't A COMPLETE loss. Not completely. It beat 'Ebenezer'.
Ebenezer is a movie I've never seen, but my brothers envy me for it. For, uh, not seeing it, that is. Yeah. Picture 'Scrooged' except not funny, and it's in the Wild West. Yeah.
So, if my brothers will cease, I'll continue. About then Jen, Shawn, Mom, and Dad, along with most everyone under the age of 10 slunk off to bed (note, this was afterMidnight, where by there was mich clinking of glasses, drinking of champaign, and couples kissing - well, not so much of the kissing). So, me and 'The Boys' stayed up a bit later and watched some of the Kenshin OAVs. We got 1/2 way through all 4 when, at 3:00, Tim crashed and Josh groaned, so we cut the program short. I proceeded to play Civilization III, until 4:00 when Josh met his match and found solace in his pillow. Soon there after, I too bit the bullet, and went to bed at 5:30 - I wanted to be in bed before sunrise. it's rumored Gene went to bed as the sun awoke. Tim woke up this morning at about 8 (the same time Gene went to bed?). I awoke to the lovely concerto, presented by my youngest sister, Emily, and her powerful set of lungs. It was about 10:00 then. Long after, Josh was next, followed even longer behind by Gene, who awoke at precicely 1:00ish, PM
Uhm, I think that's, uh, the end, but, uh, I've lost my train of thought. We're, uh, starting the movie now - 'So I Married An Axe Murdurer' A classic, I'm told.
And so, I leave you wonderful people.
