Well, I think I had something to say. Maybe. But I'm really tired, so I don't think I'm gonna make much of a post this eve. I know I always TALK about getting in bed early, but I think tonight I really WILL. Anyways, been really kinda happy since last night - ontop of everything else listed in yesterday's post, my sister and I had a nice chat, and she said I was one of her best friends. ^_^;; I'm such a sap, I know.

Anyways, I burned some CDs tonight - my friend Oli and her Roomie asked me to make them a couple discs, so I did. I suppose I'll end off with a listing of those CDs, just cause I can.

I've wante a chance to come up to say this, because all my Chalupa friends say it... so...

Word!

Teeheeeee. ^________^ It's the simple things in life, really it is. ::giggles::

... I think what got me into hearing all kinds of music was the fact that I often had to ride in a car with people who had very different music tastes than myself. I got so damn SICK of hearing everyone else complain for hours about how they didn't like this or that (my GOSH how it grated on my nerves)... and so, generally, I figured that was not I wanted to become. Thus, I grew to like a little of it all... just not all the time (you have to agree that music is an outlet of mood most of the time... and when you're angry, you don't listen to sad songs, and when you're happy you don't listen to rage songs, etc). ^__^; I find Senta very sad for the fact that she considers all I listen to ... well, to be "boring" to the point of not telling me... but not just shutting up either. Where as the only music she listens to is loud, screaming alternative songs that - while I like, a great lot of the time - cannot listen to 24/7.

It almost hurts my feelings when she learns that some of my songs (esp "Gravity of Love" by Enigma and "Clubbed to Death" by Robb D... she loved both those) were really worthwhile and interesting and - GASP! - not only did I like them (love them, worship them, drool upon them) ... she had never heard of them and - GASP! - liked them too. One should never pass someone's music style off as "boring" without at least trying to understand why one likes such music, ne? I may not love country music like some people I know.... but sometimes it's really worthwhile and good and people who put it down all the time... well, don't they have anything better to do?

Like, uhm, listen to the music they like? ^__^;; (I don't mean to sound harsh, but gosh... in my social circle... I could either be worshiped or killed for liking certain music styles. It's insane and a little too radical - and I'm not talking in a good way!)

OH! On a somewhat related note, I went and got that "Pretty Enough" song. It's really lovely, Andrew. If you like that, you should try "Fade" by Lori Carson... it's pretty in (what I'd like to call) that same sort of way. Thanks for the music rec ... I love hearing new stuff, as always. ^_______^

And as for being spoiled... I thought I was going to DIE when Navi wasn't burning CDs. I'm not close to kidding. I almost never listen to anything but Mixes... either my own or the rare few that people have sent me over the years. They are really such a blessing.

Well, that, and my MP3 collection. No wonder Navi is so fussy... I overload the poor thing with so much music and videos that 28 of 34 gigs are completely taken. ::crashes to the floor, anime-style:: .... yeah. Ouch.

Kaaaay.... done now.... ::hides::

I've got two tickets to Iron Maiden...

::Nods:: I know what you're saying about people griping about Music - seems to me that's what Louis and Jesse were doing, if only limiting it to genres. ::Shrugs:: I imagine that if I didn't like any given song/arist I would let you know - but at the same time, that doesn't come up all that often. ^_^ I can say there are a few things that turn me off from a song - the two biggest being gratuitous cussing and screaming at any point in the song. Of course, the fact that I like "One Step Close" by Linkin Park calls the lie in the latter - but there's always an exception.

And yes, Pretty Enough is an AWSOME song! I LOVE her voice, absolutely adore it. And get this - I never would have found her if not for my roomie. See, mostly (and I DO mean mostly) she's a Country Singer, even if you wouldn't know it from that song. infact, most of her songs are MUCH too Country for my tastes, but that one... Simply amazing. ^_^

Hee hee, I have so many MixCDs, I think I'm starting to lose them and not even realize it! ><* I'm thinking, since I've wanted to do it for a while, that I might write down Track Lists and paste them up here on LJ for all my CDs. The problem is - I'm REALLY bad with Track Lists, and that means NONE of my CDs have any. So I would have to go through each and recall the Title and Artist. ^_^ Whee.
As far as MP3s go - I have two sets right now. First are the songs that are set - I've already listened through them and I know they're keepers. This set is the 1868 I keep taling about, and it takes up about 7.22Gigs on my computer. The second set is constantly in flux, and that's my Kazaa folder. These are songs which I download en masse, and then dig through systematically, deleting what I don't like and moving what's good into my Library folder. Right now it's at about 160 mp3s, but a couple days ago it had over 220. Of course, this is all due to the fact that Kazaa has been really nice to me lately. And, of course, with everything on my computer, I wouldn't be able to do this if not for the extra 80Gig Hard Drive I bought recently. Oh yes, feel the might of the Mighty Joy. ^_^;;
