As much as I think I might want my life to just come to a stop and let me breathe, it simply won't. My Family went home on earlier this morning, and I started work yesterday. Work seems like it could be bearable, assuming they give me the right hours. And, much as I love my family, it is nice to feel like I have my space again.
But that's not all! Leslie has invited me to go to see Jim Infantino with her a a couple weeks, and soon after my CompSci club-thingy is planning on having a LAN Party (yes, feel the utter joy). I have a presentation to work up before the 26th (I got royally skrewed when we were picking dates, though admittedly it is in part due to my own incompetance). Claire and I are talking about getting together in October or something...
As if I didn't have enough to occupy my time, I'm juggling two ideas - one, re-restarting that psudo-novel I've been 'planning' on writing for the last seven years, and two running a Mage: The Ascension PBeM1. As per the first one, it's going to be a Romantic2 novel pertaining to the persona behind my psudonym. i'm not sure if, when, or how well I'll get on that, but I may have a bit more of a plot-line comming together, so we'll see. For the second, I'm only toying with the idea because Tina's been bugging me to restart my other game3 for quite a while now, but seeing as I've lost all momentum, most of my plays, and quite a bit of interest in that system, I figure starting over from scratch would be best. Anyways, if any of you might be interested in this, e-mail me4. I may make mention of this, in greater detail, after I've been reaquainted with the game.
1PBeM, or Play By e-Mail. Basically, you get a bunch of players together on a list, and the StoryTeller/DungeonMaster/GameMaster sends out a mail describing the scene. Then, the plays white himher back with their words/actions. It allows for more creativity on all parts, I believe, but also has the tendancy to be very slow starting, and pretty slow running. They also tend to be unstable, but are about all some of us have....
2Romantic in the sense as I understand it to be, that is, Tragically Heroic. I LOVE that kind of stuff...
3I started a game some great time ago, running a twisted version of the Final Fantasy VI storyline using Palladium Books' Rifts game system. Being a PBeM, it was slow, and the stresses of schooling on all parts eventually broke it in twain. Tina, however, was playing a spuky little Princess, and as such, wanted to continue...
4If you don't know, 64Portner@cua.edu. I would use that loverly 'mailto' tag thingy, except for the fact that I hold a personal grudge against it for never working the way I want it to. Sorry, you'll have to manually pull up your e-mail server...
