Phones and such.

So, I'm thinking of getting a new phone (my "new every two" cycle is coming
up), and I'm thinking of getting something like this
if Verizon carries it. I've had a flip-phone for years now, but I'm always
afraid of snapping the things (and for good reason, as I've lost at least
two that way). I'm not a fan of slide-phones, and the old-style "candybar"
phones really are what I prefer. What I'd REALLY like is an iPhone, but I'm
unwilling to switch from Verizon (they've treated me well thus far, and
their company policies make me A LOT happier than what I've heard from their
competitors), so that's unlikely to happen for a while. Which is fine, as I
have an iTouch to hold me over until then.
And, while I'm on the subject, does anyone out there with an iPhone or
iTouch have any suggestion for fun/useful/clever apps I should look into?

They dont really have any "candy bar" phones, at least none that I noticed.

Date: 2008-07-28 05:07 pm (UTC)The Dare, as cool as it is, isn't an iTouch++. It won't sync with my music library and it can't take advantage of Apple's App store. If it's an android (http://code.google.com/android/#utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-ha-na-us-bk&utm_medium=ha&utm_term=android) then it might get cool apps eventually, but I haven't heard much on that front.
Being iPhone-like isn't good enough for me. Unless there's a 1-to-1 correspondence, I'm probably not interested, and I'll just trade my RAZR in for some other feature-light cellphone; after all, I just need something that makes phone calls. (Though, I like the 5MP camera idea: then I don't need to carry around my Casio.)
