I found This to
be pretty amusing. There's a report out on a scientific study which claims
that vegetarianism is a "perversion of nature," and that it will kill you in
the end. there's also a bit in there which apparently claims that soured
milk is better for you than fresh milk, but I was a bit unclear on that
point.
True to form, The Register takes a nicely-British, tongue-in-cheek approach
to reporting the story.

Proud to be a Mistake of Nature
Date: 2008-01-31 10:48 pm (UTC)It's true: anyone who's ever tried to cook a vegetarian can confirm they do indeed have a low boiling point, but melting the stuttering buggers down really is the only way to shut up the shouty, arm-waving meat-dodgers.
I love it and find it utterly ridiculous, all at the same time! Brilliant humor. Also complete bollocks - at least as I see it. Personally, I'm always a little wary of articles that cite nothing more concrete than unnamed "recent studies". It is, after all, oh so very easy to bend the results of a given study to suit just about anyone's perspective.
There's just as much of an argument to the contrary: that humans aren't, in fact, meant to eat meat - that it's a perversion of nature for us to eat it. I'm not sure if any group has it right: staunch meat-eaters, people who eschew red meat but chow on the white, pescatarians, veggies, vegans, raw vegans, breathatarians (yes, they're real). They all have arguments as to why their way is best, and I'm sure that everyone makes their own good and bad points. All I know is what I myself have experienced since giving up meat, and it's nothing but good things, so I'll continue on my merry carrot-crunching way, proud to be an "arm-waving meat-dodger". And I'll happily let everyone else eat whatever they want to.
Except people. I'm not, as you know, down with people-eatage. Eat pork, folks - it's the next best thing, or so they say.
