I admit, I laughed at bits of it. Some of with was absurd. Some of it was clever. Most of it was, as I've come to expect from The Simpsons, generally just dumb. A good way to kill an hour or so of your life. I didn't hate, "The Hulk" was a worse movie in my opinion, but I wouldn't really recommend it, and I wouldn't really choose to see it again, in most situations.
In the end, Simpsons lives off of three things: slapstick, absurd humor, and clever social satire. The absurd humor is, generally, as good or better elsewhere, and the social satire has been waning for years now. That leaves slapstick to carry the weight, and I've never enjoyed slapstick much.
The Movie was even missing any clever pop culture references...

i did like the bit at the start, where homer called everyone a sucker for paying for something they can watch "for free" (ha, right, wanna see MY cable bill?) on tv. i've heard it before, but it never fails to amuse me.
