I like Vitae.
For those who don't know (prolly all-a you) Vitae is the Flather (my dorm) prayer group. This being the Catholic University of America, each dorm gets a prayer group. It's religious and stuff.

In any case, I like it cause it's a psudo-Youth Group, so you can go and be yourself and stuff - get t'know people and such.
ANYWAYS, most anyone who's ever talked to me for a given length of time, particularly at Youth Group, knows I have a penchant for changing my name, and I have a fondness for 'Steve'. SO, at Vitae, when they ask us to tell our name and major and all that fun stuff, I call myself Steve. The group quickly picked up on it - at first they would correct me (No you're not. *cough*Lier*cough*) but after a while they all just started calling me Steve. It got SO bad that once Sally called me Andrew and Dan was like 'who?' It was great. ^____^
Last night, we had some new people and so we were going around, and when it came to me, I said "Well, I'm Steve, as most people around here know me" (of course, I always say this like it's no big deal - after all, s'just my name) and this brought about a round of giggles from all the Vitae-Veterans. It was great (Yes, if you hadn't noticed by now, I like t'play the clown).
I also mentioned my girlfriend later on, and Dan asked me what she called me - did she call me 'Andrew' or what. I laughed and said "Yeah, she calls me Andrew. But her brother calls me Steve. Her dad calls me Dave. Her uncle calls me Gus..." Dan got a kick outta it. ^^
(As a side note, though, her brother calls me Dave and her dad calls me Steve, I do believe...)
And so, yeah, that's about all I have t'say.

Date: 2002-04-17 09:50 am (UTC)I believe the way it happened went something like this:
Me being goofy, I introduced myself to Claire's family (her dad and Chris in particular) as Steve. Later it came to light that I wasn't, in reality, Steve - over dinner, I think. Her dad was quite perplexed, or at least feined it quite well, and to this day continues to call me Steve. Chris seemed to pick up on it, though, and wanted to call me 'Dave'. He was happy when I told him that my middle name was 'David', and he and her Dad proceeded to debate what my name really was (Steve or Dave) while Claire insisted that I was Andrew.
Oddly enough, one might note that her name's isn't really Claire, either...
As for the nicknames, yes, I know. ^___^
I'm rather a collector of sorts. Andrew, Andy, Drew, Steve, Dave, Bakabakashii, Neko-kun, Neko-sama, Gus, Jenny's Brother, Portner, Moroboshi Ataru No Neko-kun, Pain... The list goes on and on and on - I LOVE it. ^____^
