Ok, so we've all heard that 50% of the world's wealth is held by 2% of the world's population. For me, I can say that I've always figured we're talking about Bill Gates, Michael Jordan, and other such celebrities when we mention that 2%. But according to This Site, once I graduate I'll very likely be within the top 1% richest people in the world! (And even now I'm in the top 5.4%.)

I'm not really sure how that makes me feel.

Get used to it. When people talk about global poverty reduction, the usual standard is $1/day. Any country with a per-captia GDP over $11k is considered "high income" by the World Bank.

Most of the world is really, really poor.

Granted - those numbers are calculated at exchange rates, not at Purchasing Power Parity (i.e., adjusted for the fact that food is cheaper in Zambia than it is here, so your $1/day goes a lot farther). But it's still pretty grim.
