This makes me feel significantly better about Cohen, the man. Borat, the movie, is still not worth seeing in my opinion, all things considered.

Truth be told, it wasn't my idea. In fact, from the very little I'd seen of the previews (I don't watch TV, or get out much in general), I was pretty sure I didn't want to see it. But on opening weekend I was visiting a friend, and she'd been interested in seeing it and had made plans to do so with another friend of hers (she later regretted that decision more than I did, I think), so I wasn't going to be That Guy and ruin their plans. Amusingly, her other friend ran off before the previews had finished because his sister went into labor, and she and I were left to writhe.

Nano's not going well at all. At the beginning of week 2 I lost all 7200 words I'd written when my flash drive crashed (and, being an idiot, that was the only copy I'd saved). I recovered back to 6700 in a couple of days, but then I had a bunch of work-type stuff involving a conference in DC, and haven't gotten anything else written since. I'm not quite giving up, but I've been less-than-motivated for over a week now, and the likelihood of me getting to 50,000 in two weeks is pretty slim. I'm afraid I'm dead in the water.

I'm not giving up, I do plan to write more, and I plan to keep up with this story in the long term, but... Yeah...

My word count wasn't great. I've been super busy at work. I even pulled a 26 hour shift the other day. It's been crazy. I'm still about 10,000 down from where I should be, but I'm pretty confident about it all. I've been watching your word count and hoping that you'd stick with it.

Good luck. How's the story going, btw? Is it forming like you thought it might, or is it surprising you?
