As a general rule, I don't watch TV. I haven't watched TV since... Well, since Seinfeld went off the air, I guess. That's when I generally mark it, anyways. By then Seinfeld wasn't even any good, but since then I haven't found anything that was really worth watching. I think I would have watched House, except that I didn't have a TV when it started airing and didn't have the inclination to go get one.

Just recently, the show Heroes started up. Apparently there was a big whirl of media frenzy about it -- or, rather, a whole whirl of grass-roots Internet frenzy. I never saw any of that, but I did get the tail end of it a few weeks ago; I think Louis mentioned it.

I love Heroes. I was babysitting for my sister the night it premiered, which means that I was able to actually watch it. The premise had me hooked even before the show aired: regular people who discover they have extraordinary abilities. I love that. I love regular people put in fantastic circumstances -- or given fantastic powers and then see how they handle it in everyday life. What would you do if you could stop time, or fly, or regenerate? How would you handle your job, or a mugger, or a rival? I think it's great.

When it began, Nikki was my favorite character. Because, without giving anything away, Nikki wasn't nice. I think, in the end, she does what's right, in a way, but she isn't nice about it. I liked the other characters, too, especially Claire and Hiro. And after this week's episode, I'm starting to like (because i'm starting to understand) Peter, and I really like Claire.

In short, I love this show. Really, really like this show. And one of the best bits, for me, is that I can go to NBC.com every week and watch it. Now, they only give the current episode and a 2-minute "previously, on X-Men Heroes" thing, which is enough to get caught up. But it means that even though I don't have a TV, I can still watch my show. And this makes me very happy.

(It's of note that, thanks to one Ms. Mullin I'm also a big fan of The Office. Unfortunately, I'm easily a full season and a half, if not more, behind, and said Miss is the only way can get any more of it. And, as far as I know, I can't watch it on the Internet. But The Office plus Heroes may be enough for me to invest in a TV before long. especially if I find a Third.)

You should also check out Studio 60 on NBC.com. I know you're not a big TV person, but it's written by the same guy who wrote The West Wing (before it got crappy), and it's fabulous! If you're bored...

I did like bits of The West Wing (before it got crappy), so maybe I will.

I spent last night watching TV online. I watched Heroes, which was intriguing, though, at times, I think it may have helped to have seen the previous episodes. I then went on to watch the season premiers of Twenty Good Years and 30 Rock. Twenty Good Years would have been better, were it not for the outdated and crass use of a Laugh-track (See? We're funny. Laugh with us ... please ... ?). 30 Rock was more than a little entertaining, but I'm not quite sure what to think of it yet.

Anastasiya, meet Setsuna. That's who Leslie had me dress up as when I met Claire so many years ago.
