For those of you just tuning in, I had a Physics test a couple weeks back. Except we didn't - he pushed it back. I fact, he pushed it so far back that we just had it. Now, I'd be studying for all of 2hrs before this... ><* I've never been very good at studying. But, I felt pretty comfortable with the stuff and figured I'd do OK.

The best thing, I think, about tests is they're a sure-fire way to get me out of bed. Granted, projects and papers are often times more important, but just as often I can e-mail those in. For a test, though, you have to actually be there. So this morning I got up at the breath-taking hour of 8:17-ish *gasp* Took my shower, got dressed, all that fun stuff, and had about 15min to go over my notes.

The test was at 9:10. I went in there, made sure I had my pen and calculator ready, and I was set. Then we got the test, and the first problem started out "Use a pencil and ruler to..." Pencil? Ruler? What are such things? Thankfully, to a little desperation and 4th-grade ingenuity, I was able to make by reasonably well with my pen and the opposite corner of the test paper. ^^;;; All in all, the test was going really well - most everything could be answered with 1/f = 1/do + 1/di or M = -di/do.

Then I came to the last problem - question six. Unlike the five before it, this question had but one part - find said value. Trouble was - I couldn't remember the formula for said value. Granted, it was only worth 10pts total, but missing it completely would mean having to mark 10pts off my grade before I even left the room. The closest I could recal was R = 1.22L/D, but that didn't seem complete. I figured botching it was better than leaving it blank (partial credit, y'know) so I plugged in what numbers I could, signed my name, and turned in my paper.

As I am wont to do after any given test, upon arriving home, I checked my book for the things that had given me trouble. The only thing on this test that had given me trouble was said formula for said value. SO, I opened up my book and, lo and behold - I was RIGHT! The formula was R = 1.22L/D, and so my gut feeling that I was wrong was wrong (make of that what you will). And so, the morning ends happy, and there's one more worry off my mind.

Yay!

Good job! :-) Don't you love it when you know things you never knew you knew? :-)

How ironic...
