jackofallgeeksLast thursday, we had a Calculus test. this entire year, I've understood the calculus, but made stupid errors. My biggest errors were made last thursday - namely, I forgot both my calculator and sheet of notes. If I had had my calculator, I would have known sin(0) = 0. If I had had my notes, I would have known that 1/(x-2)² is not arctan(x/2).
I made a major mistake on one problem, integrating by parts when I should have used substitution. I was thrown off because of the weird e-2x² function. The arctan slip was also a fumble on my part, because I din't relize it could be integrated simply as -1/(x-2). Those would have hurt, and rightly so, but it would have been better.... Final verdict? 38%
We have another test, I think, on geometic progressions and series. These I can DO - it's all recusion and FOR loops, just like in CompSci. These are numbers I understand, not like Trigonometry. If I can ace that and do passably on the Final, I may stand a chance. Maybe.
I'm to the point where I just want to survive this class. ><* I hate it, because I hate 'good enough', but I don't know that I can do much else. If I get a low C, I'll be fine. It'll hurt my grades, I won't like it, but I'll pass. If I get a D, I think I lose my scholarships, and I don't know what that would mean....
I think I'm going to go stare at the ceiling for a few hours before the study session in Physics. I'll see you all later.
