Been gone for a while. Only a few days, I suppose, but it feels like a long while to me. Without Annie, my interet access is thin, and not the same even when I get it. It's true that, generally speaking, when I'm at home I occupy myself with my family more than, well, the outside world. Having had a cold doesn't help, either.

I need to get a car. I need to get insurance. I'm looking at renting a place either Here or Here, or somewhere. Can anyone speak to the quality of those neighborhoods? I'm really just looking for a ballpark "you will/won't get shot" sort of thing. Where ever I go, I'll be there for 6 months.

Still no 'official offer', and I doubt I'll ever actually get one. A couple more phone calls and emails, and now they've said "we'll get the rest on your first day." So that's fun. I may email Stuart, my boss-to-be, and see what's up on his end.

Wedding tomorrow. Haven't gotten around to see Louis, which sucks. Haven't called Genie, as I've been meaning to, but I've been meaning to call Amanda for months and I haven't. Anxious in most senses of the word to get down to Virginia; settle into my place, get together with old friends, meet new ones. We'll see where all that goes.

I finished Harry Potter 6 last night. It was harder, I think, than it should have been. I'll be awaiting Book 7 now, the final chapter, and wondering what is to become of these characters I've grown so fond of, but in the meantime I've other works to read. First, I think, is a little play called "Arcadia" that I've had on my shelf for a while. I'll finish that in an evening or two, and then onto the "His Dark Materials" series, which comes highly recommended and of which Laurel is interested to hear my opinion. Then, perhapse, I'll try tacking Dante or Milton again; probably Milton, as I've been interested to read his Lucifer for a long while now.

At the moment, though, I'm home alone, so I think I'm gonna go shower, shave, eat, and maybe take a dip in my parents' new pool... I'll be around.

-grins- love you, too, Kate. How's life treating you?

Rachel, I believe, recommended both of them to me. And my friend Melissa also recommended His Dark Materials. And my friend Laurel wouldn't let me leave the bookstore unless I had a copy of the first book, so... I expect it's worth reading.
:p

I just finished The Golden Compass. I'm moving on to the other two books as soon as I finish Adverbs and Damage. It's a really good series so far, and speaks to some really huge ideas. I really can't wait to see where the story goes.

For some reason, I'm not getting links to neighborhoods, but to my Friends page. c__c;; Can you rectify this? Then I can speak to the quality some good, yes.

!!!!!!! yea! i'm so glad you read the first one. i love that series SO much. (thus my fan soundtrack, which i still listen to quite a lot) ..... the thrid book drags a little bit, but i think it's massively worth it to complete the journey with the characters you grow to love so much.

the HDM trilogy .... some of the only books i could re-read without a second thought. because as much as i live for books, i just can't re-read them. weird, i know.

It was your soundtrack that got me wanting to read the books. And the first one kinda blew me away. o.o So I can't wait for the second and third ones.

Hmmm...well, Pine Oak Circle is closer to me than the other place...not that that should influence your decision. :3 Neither of the places look bad, but I'd have to drive by them to see for myself. Maybe I'll try doing that Tuesday or Wednesday of this coming week...
