I just watched Mulholland Drive.
I don't understand.

I remember watching that movie a couple of years ago. I had the same reaction I had to most good things I watch.

I feel totally enlightened, and about 30 seconds later I have no idea what it was about.

::laughs:: I had to actually do a report on that movie once, so I'd like to think that I'm pretty much expert on what it was that was going on. For a David Lynch movie, it's probably the most accessible one I've ever seen. Sometime, we'll talk about it. :3

Heh. You're why I rented it in the first place. I'd love to talk about it sometime. 'Cause, yeah, I don't understand.

If I only knew...
See, here's the deal. i have to not-be in classes this coming fall. My classes work out in such a way that unless I don't take classes this fall, I can't get all the classes I need for graduation. Conveniently, there's a 'mandatory' internship we need to take for the program. I say 'mandatory' because my school (and my school alone) has funky scheduling, so they can sometimes relax the mandatoriness of it. This is good, and it's what i'm currently talking with the guys over at Norfolk about. Unfortunately, they're dragging their feet as far as really telling me anything definite. And so it's 3 weeks before the end of the quarter, and I still don't know what side of the country I'm going to be on. because if they can't give me six months, I can't take their internship this summer.

That having been said, I have a break from classes for the second half of June, during which I'm going home. I have a wedding to attend in there, and unless I get this internship, I'll be heading back here. If I *do* get the internship, I'll be rushing around Norfolk sometime in those two weeks (or shortly there after) trying to find an apartment for rent, and then i'll be there for six months. Or so. And yes. I stress.

I have a friend (coincidentally named Andrew) who asked me one day if I had seen Mulholland Drive. I said no... to which he immediately responded: "You HAVE to see it!... then you can explain it to me!"
So we watched it. He was watching it for the second time, me for the first. And we STILL have no idea what happened in that film. It is crazy. But I do still like it.

There are a number of pieces that I haven't put together yet, but... think what happened was that Diane wanted a life without Camile, or something, and paid a guy to "get it done," that guy being the contact for the creepy voodoo guy behind the Denny's restaraunt. Or something. Like I said, there's a lot I don't get. Typically, I rent these movies from Netflix, watch them once, then throw them back. I think I may hold on to thise one (I'm out of rentals until June 9th anyways) and see if a second watching doesn't help me out.

The thing is, so many scenes are so similar, and the flow of time is hard to follow; half the movie I thought we were in a flashback.
