And apparently, I'm going to see HP4 tomorrow. I'm a little torn by it. See, I've been meaning to read the HP books for, well, at least a couple years now, I guess. I think I got through (most of) the first book. And I choked past (a good deal of) the second book. And I started the third book. I think. But I haven't really read any of them, so I'd basically have to start from the beginning again (which I may, after I finish Dune... and maybe 1984...). And it wasn't that they weren't good, I'm just pretty bad at taking time to read books (even though I love them) and even worse at reading series (I forget what happened in book 1 before I even start book 3).
Anyways, I've seen Sorceror's Stone and Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkabhan, and that's all well and good, but... I'm told that books 4 and 5 are probably going to be my favorites, and Book Four is the one When Someone Dies, isn't it? So I don't know if I'm going to be ruining things for me or not... But then, odds are I'd ruin the movie by reading the book easier than I'd ruin the book by watching the movie... so...
Regardless, I'm set on reading the books (someday >.< ), both because I think there's a lot of potential, and I feel it only just if I'm to insist (as I am) that they don't *really* qualify as 'modern fantasy,' where fantasy here means 'a story involving wizardry and fantastical creatures, etc' and 'modern fantasy' is 'such a story in a modern-world setting vice a middle-ages styled setting.'
What do you think?
