Four days ago, we didn't know if we were going to present or not. Frankly, I didn't care, but you know, 'not' would be good.
Two days ago, our adviser sends us a blank forward (ie, he didn't add any comments, just forwarded) an email he had received from the Director's secretary telling him (Battou) that he needed to contact the Director in order to discuss the Senior Design Presentation.
Today we got three emails from Battou in about 15-minutes time: We have to present today, this afternoon, ASAP. Well, OK, we can present either today or Monday. Well, OK, we'll present on Monday morning. And you know, that's fine, whatever. We're not prepared, we're not going to be prepared, and the project is not functioning: we have an application for streaming media which doesn't stream media. Fine, whatever, I don't care.
Then I get a fucking email from Zach, the guy who's only contributions to the project were (1)telling Battou off in the first place, (2)developing the administrator side which we all agreed was pointless and just meant to placate Battou, and (3) insisting on some asinine change to the Database Jim and I designed months ago, because our design meant adding in an extra step to his fucking administrator console. Oh, and did I mention that his changed not only significantly altered the table design, but breaks a basic rule of a relational databases?
Anyways, the email. He asked me to send him a copy of the database I was using, so I did. And he asked me if I was using the Join tables, which I said I was because (1)that's how Jim and I originally designed the fucker, and (2)because, apparently through some mistake on my part, I thought Zach had decided to change back to that design a few weeks ago and I build my JSP pages accordingly.
And so he fucking writes back, "I don't ever recall switching back to the that had the joins. The database I sent to you on April 22 didn't have the joins. The Database I put on your usb drive didn't have the joins in it." As though this is some fucking personal affront to him. he didn't even have a fucking hand in EITHER the database design OR the fucking JSPs, all he did was some shitty little admin console, and the only reason he wanted us to change our part was because he was too fucking lazy to make his side work with it. I'm so fucking sick of this whole fucking thing, and the sooner it's over and done with and I don't have to fucking think about it again, the happier I'll be!
