I've found the Tarot Deck that I want, particularly as I've become enamoured with This Card.

Someone told me it's poor form to buy your own tarot deck, though, and as I've already spent $160+ on Amazon in the last week... I'm trying to refrain myself.

It <i?is</i> supposed to be bad luck to buy your own decks, though I've bought most of my own and seem to still be okay. :)

Maybe if you're reeeeaaaly nice, someone would get it as a graduation gift.

As someone who collects Tarot decks *laughs* let me tell you what I think.

No, I think that is completely silly! You should buy your own deck cause you should be comfort with the first deck you work with. Choice one that speaks to you. Otherwise you wont feel any connection with your deck. There is nothing taboo about buying your own deck. I use to be really big into tarot stuffs in college but now I just collect them for the pretties *^^*

I've heard the same

Another friend of mine, Paul, wanted a deck just as much as you and made the same appeal to his friends and eventually received one a year or so later. He had heard the same about not buying a deck for yourself. Of course, he doesn't have the deck to do readings - like you, he is mostly enamoured with cards and symbolism. Or at least I think that is how the both of you feel.
