So, I went over to Amazon this week, which is I think I haven't done in many, many months. You see, Amazon is worse than Barnes&Noble, because with B&N, all I need to do is be sure I don't walk out of the building with a book physically on my person. This is a fairly simple thing, as it takes non-negligible effort to pick up a book, and there's ample time between picking up a book and leaving the store for the weight in my hand to remind me what I'm doing. Amazon is much more insidious. Clicking an HTML button is significantly easier than picking up a book, and a eCart has no weight at all. This compounds things, as I can only physically carry so much out of a B&N, but I could pile two or three times that much into a eCart without a second thought. The only thing between me and My Stuff in Amazon is the size of the number under "Total" in checkout, and even that is dreadfully misleading. 'Cause, if I buy enough, I get free shipping. And if I'm *eventually* going to but those other books anyways, I'll be charged less on shipping if I get them all together than in separate orders. See? It's BETTER to buy more at Amazon...

I like to console myself a little by telling myself that since I'm using Louis's mom's link she gets a kick-back from anything I order.

In my trip this week, I bought:
  • An American Tail [DVD]
  • The Land Before Time (Anniversary Edition) [DVD]
  • The Super Mario Super Show - Greatest Moments [DVD]
  • M.A.S.K. Volume 1 [DVD] Does anyone else remember this circa 1985 cartoon?
  • The Neverending Story [DVD]
  • The Neverending Story 2 [DVD]
  • The Neverending Story [Book]
  • Plot (Elements of Fiction Writing) [Book]
  • The Complete Writer's Guide to Heroes and Heroines [Book]
  • Das Testament, by E Nomine [CD]
  • Tears, by Cruxshadows [CD]
    Running Total: $164.12

I also have a rather large Wishlist, which I build up whenever I'm bored. A lot of it is just stuff that struck my fancy at some moment or another, but looking through it should give insight into some subset of my interests. The trouble with building this list, though, is that I have to go to Amazon to do it. And Amazon is the Playground of the Devil (literary beast what he is).

Anyone have an opinion on The Neverending Story 2? I don't remember liking it, but I'm not known for my memory, and others have said it's not like Other Sequels.

It's a good sequel. *nodnods* Of course it could never hold a match to the original, in all it's glory and spledor, but it's worth watching, and owning, as far as I'm concerned. I have them both on VHS and DVD. XD Just this little girl's opinion. ^^

Ebay is worse. The books on tape I wanted were $85 on amazon and $6 on ebay. Plus, with paypal I don't even have to type in my credit card info, just the "pay with paypal" button and it's done! Oh, how my bank account weeps.

Ok *^^* My problem with people being upset at the Neverending Story 2 is that it is not a tradtional sequel, it is literaly the second half of the book. They take great liberties with it cause there is so much that happens in the book that gets cut out, but people get all huffy cause they made a sequel and I'm like yeah they should have cause the first movie was only the first half of the book!!

so that is why it is not like other sequels *^^*

You realize you've now doomed me to yet another spree of digital consumerism, yes? It's really only a matter of time, and not a very long matter thereof, either.
