So, right, another little update today, and in two parts.
The first part is on Anastasiya, who I chatted with this afternoon. She's been having some difficulties with her dad being petty and passive-aggressive and treating her like a child, and she confessed to being petty and passive-aggressive, and acting like a child in retaliation. We kind of got in an argument when I pointed out (harsher than I'd intended) that she can't solve anything by sinking to his methods and proving him right. I really didn't mean to upset her; she's a dear friend and I care for her deeply. But I also believe that a good friend doesn't simply accept and encourage just any behavior their friend chooses. If I disagree with you on a point, I will let you know, and I will argue (sometimes heatedly) with my friends. But that doesn't mean I think any less of you for it. I disagree with most of my friends on many subjects; I'd be pretty lonely if I thought less of them all just because I think they're wrong on this or that.
The second is on Jason, who I saw at a Staged Reading he invited me to tonight. I'm really glad I went, because it was a lot of fun, though the subject material (a play, it seems, entitled Sexual Perversion in Chicago) turned me off a bit. All in all it was a bit rougher and more crude than my tastes run, but it had some really hilarious lines. Anyways, I was really impressed with Jason's bit, and the performance as a whole especially, and after the fact he and I walked back to the Metro and chatted. It was really cool; he and I need to hang out more, cause it's great every time we do.
And that, as they say, is that. For now, a glass of Water, a little Salem's Lot, wash my face, and then to bed. Work in the morning (*groan*), but I get to take a trip down to the Virginia Office, so I'll get out a bit -- fresh air and sunshine. I think I'll drive with the windows down...

And yes, I really do love having a Theatre Geek in the family. -smiles- You'll have to keep me up-to-date on your goings on, because one of these days I really do want to see you perform, or something.
