So I figure I should do a quick update...
Uhm, let's see... Josh came home this weekend, so I ran out to get Gene, cause the three of us haven't all been home in a long while. This meant driving out very late to Christendom; I had my Changeling game that evening, which was in Silver Spring and didn't end until after 1:00am. I crashed on the spare bed at Gene's place, and then slept most of the way home while he drove -- which is probably a good thing, as I've inherited my mother's rider-anxiety nervousness; I don't like being not-the-driver. Having the three of us all there was cool; we chatted and watched movies and had pizza and stuff -- Gene and I played TimeSplitters Co-Op, and that was cool.
Sunday, randomly, my aunt Susan had everyone over to her place for dinner, which was great; I don't think we've had a family dinner in quite a while, and I know we haven't been to Susan's in a long time. We had shrimp cocktails, and then burgers and pork on the grill, beans and potatoe salad included. I love potatoe salad. Also gotta see Christina, and it's always good to see her. -grins- And pick on here, but you know how it goes...
Taking Gene back to school, as always, presented a nice excuse to see Suzannah, and I did. ^_^;; I hope I don't seem too foolish to the ladies out there; it's been about a month straight now that I've shown up looking for Suzannah, roughly the same time every sunday. It was really nice to see her, though. I returned the CD she let me borrow, and then we went out for a walk up and down campus, and finally to the tree-swing, just chatting about stuff. She's really enjoying her time out there, and really likes the ladies she's staying with; they all have a lot in common, and have nice conversations. She feels it's something of a turning point in her life. We later got to talking about Serious Things in my life, starting with me telling her about The Letter as a way of explaining my reservations toward snail-mail. (Odd looking back and seeing that I had a gut-instinct that it was a bad move...) We got to talking about other tangently related things, and it was generally all good. She suggested I try to find a one Father Morrow from her home parish to chat about Religious Stuff, which would be good, 'cause it's been years since I had a priest I really trusted. And just as a note, she was born here in Maryland, and her parents have been in the area for nearly 25years, so they very well might have known Uncle Jim... Sometimes I rather miss him.
I like talking with her, and we've decided we should get together sometime to have tea together. We talked until about 11:30 or so, I think, then we walked back to her place and I headed home. It was 2am before I got to bed, and I got roughly three hours of sleep before I needed to be up for work.
Work yesterday sucked. In a nutshell, a security installation which should have taken 90minutes became an all-day affair which kept me late and cost me my lunch break. Luckily, the afterward was better -- I called up my friend Jenny to see if she wanted to hang out, then Kate called me up to see if I wanted to go to a local pub, then... Well, long story short, Me, Jenny, Kate, GP, Jason, Chris, and Dog all ended up in a pub in DC, and had a grand time. I had a Guinness to start with Kate, and then we all kinda shared a reuben sandwich, nachos, and some potatoes. Kate had an odd obsession with people defiling Guinness with OtherStuff, Jason wouldn't stand for a straw in his beer, and I nearly died laughing, as per my usual. We outlasted four other tables, and even had a moment of *really* geeking out, talking about LARPing, DnD, and the standards of Obfuscate in Live-Action V:tM. Yeah, we're all dorks -- even Jenny, if just by association.
It was really great, but unfortunately we were out a lot later than we'd originally planned, and after driving Jenny home (the metro was definitely closed), I didn't get up to my uncle's until nearly 2am.
On that note, I'm staying with my Uncle George this week, as opposed to Peggy and Kenny -- they have an extra room in their house for guests, and a driveway which is easier to turn around in, and I won't be in a 6year-old girl's bed. I plan on visiting Peggy et al (they're only across the street), but this might work nicely... Though, this morning, George was rather mothering me -- I think he called me three times, and I haven't been called out of bed in years. -laughs- Cluck-cluck, ne? But I needed it this morning, or I may never have gotten up...
Roughly six more hours left, and one of those will be spent eating... Then, when I get home, maybe I'll take a nap...

Well, why didn't you list that among our assets in the first place?
