I watched Big Fish today. i'm here at home all by my lonesome because Dad had a business trip, Mom went to the Beach House with the kids for the week, and I called out of work. Well, emailed-out, but it's the same idea. Rachel told me that I had to see it, and that I should stick it out to the end, even if I thought it was less-than-likable. Leslie seemed to have an opposed opinion. My verdict...? It was interesting. A bit odd. A bit fantastical. I liked the story about Sandra, and the fight, because I like a good love story. -smiles- Nothing at the end really struck me, though there were some thought-provoking one-liners. i expected that the ending would prove true the way it did; though something in the back of my head says Rachel didn't. She seems that sort, I suppose.

Speaking of Rachel, she had a really great love story for me when she called me back this morning. A friend of hers - we'll call her Bianca cause I forget what her name was -- had gotten an internship at one Theatre company or another, and conveniently enough, this guy, David for our purposes, works there too -- Bianca's had a huge crush on David for years, and now she gets to work with him in a Theatre, which even I can attest in an intimate type of profession.

So, to cut to the quick, Bianca flirts with David, who flirts back a little, and then they end up going out to dinner. The conversation is choppy and awkward all through dinner, and continued that way afterward, when they thought to take a walk. So, in the middle of the walk and choppy conversation, Bianca decides to risk it and kiss David -- and he kissed her back. Rachel said Bianca's been glowing for days.

I know, I'm a sap. -shrugs-

I had my own little mini-adventure, myself, this weekend. Though no one but me will care much. I picked up Agatha from Gene this weekend. Well, that is, my family was all up North this Saturday because Mom had an 8th-grade class reunion (can you imagine?), and since I needed Gene's car, we headed out that way. We picked Gene up around 6-ish and ate at a mexican place out there. It was alright; I had cheese enchiladas, which are my staple, and they were OK, though I don't think they were quite filling enough.

Anyways, we took Gene back, which was great, because I love my brothers. They're all great guys. My only regret was that Josh wasn't with us; The Brothers Three (who like the Three Musketeers are not Three at all) just mesh so well.

Anyways, Gene was with us all Saturday and Sunday for Father's Day, and we hung out and ate food and stuff. And last night, after dinner and Desert, I had to take Gene back to Front Royal. Which was convenient because I had a CD to return to Suzannah. Which is convenient because I've wanted to see Suzannah for two months.

After dropping Gene at his house, I took said CD and went over to Suzannah's where, conveniently, the ladies were outside dancing. So I walked up to them, and Suzannah smiled when she saw me, and we sat down in the yard and talked for a bit, which was really nice. She told me about how she loved her room mates because she'd been starved for meaningful conversation, and how the bodice of the dress her friend had made her was too big, and other little things like that. It was nice seeing her, and talking with her, and having her smile and laugh. I'm a simple sort of man.

Anyways, as I was leaving she lent me another of her CDs, one with the songs from Contra, all of which necessarily remind me of her. -smiles- I'll have to return that at some point, and we've both agreed that we'd like to talk again, and for longer, at some point.
