It's mostly a case of 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.' This guy have very little knowledge indeed. Basically, he knows enough about computers and stumbles through the right circles that he thinks, at one time or another, anything that could be wrong with his computer is wrong with it. A computer-hypocondriac; the system hangs once, and he's sure he has the Sasser worm, or MSBlaster, or a fatal error, or something...
You should tell him his the security holes on his PC caused the server to crash, and brought down the internet. Yeah e-commerce as we know it came crashing to a halt thanks to him.
