For the Record...

So, yeah, the other night I did A Post titled AutoUpdate. At the bottom, it said "Created with the Gregor's Semi-Automatic LiveJournal Updaterâ„¢," which perhapse should have been at the top, though I'm not sure that would have done too much. So, I thought I'd clear a few things up:
And so, really, the whole post was just a jab at different facets of LiveJournal. Looking over Gregor's automater, I think that was the point, anyways. Though the 'automated' mood seems to have tipped a couple people off, I think my friend Mel is right -- I should have posted this on April First!
- I am not on antidepressants. I'm leery of most medication, but especially behavior-altering drugs. I could go off into a nice discussion on the topic, but suffice it to say that it's not likely that I'll ever consent to any sort of long-term medication.
- I am not in a pre-communist Russia history class. In fact, I generally avoid history classes. history itself is interesting, with the interrelations and cause and effect, but I've never been in a well-taught history class. No class, no paper, and I'm not in danger of losing any scholarships. (At least, not as I'm aware of...)
- I am not going Friends-Only. In fact, I think I have a reasonably small number of locked posts for being here for nearly three years. Anyone at all can go back and read almost my whole history. The "though I'm posting it on the internet" clause at the end should have been a tip-off that this was a jab at those who go friends-only.
- I've had a digital camera since Christmas. I have never had a cat. Anyone interested in remedying the latter, however, should feel free.
- I haven't been to a doctor, as such, in years now. I don't often get sick enough to warrant it, and I haven't been in for a 'routine checkup' in a while. I very well may be bipolar (or, y'know, just very cyclic), but that whole thing was half a jab at doctors who tell everyone that they're bipolar, and half a jab at the large number of people who claim to be bipolar -- it really seems to be the popular syndrome of choice.
- I have, in fact, found an online test which takes in all your answers, and then says you're a moron regardless. The fact that there was no link should have been a clue, but this was just a jab at quizzes.
- Though it is true that "sharing your life with strangers on the internet is the cheapest form of therapy available," the quip of "Leave a comment and tell me I'm beautiful" should have been another tip that I was just playing. I don't typically use the adjective 'beautiful' in reference to myself, and on top of that I'm arrogant enough that I know I'm beautiful, anyways. This was just another jab.

Date: 2004-04-06 09:43 am (UTC)Curious how it was the mention of a cat, which I've wanted for so very long, that tipped you off. Figured you wouldn't be able to miss that, eh?
But no, they would have a very hard time indeed getting me to consent to any long-term (or even quite a bit of short-term) medication, and certainly not for behavioral modification -- I don't believe it it. I mean, y'know, if it works for you, great, but it's not my thing.
