Well, here I am at home.
This weekend was kind of interesting. Let me see if I can remember it all... I've meant to make a post for a while now, but I haven't been able to get much time to do it... And Tim turned my computer off, presumably in an attempt to get around my password protection, so what little I had had was lost.
Anyways... Friday morning, I got up and went home. Nothing really exciting happened... I think I sat and read some, then took a nap, something like that... Saturday afternoon I was supposed to pick up Curtis and go to a MtG tournament, as he was going to spend a couple nights at my house since his flight left the day after school closed (bad planning on his part). However, Jenny was coming to visit, and would get there just after I was supposed to leave, plus my family was all getting together at my Uncle Bob's house for a Christmas Party... So I called Curtis up, told him I'd have to pick him up Sunday morning, and went to said party.
I love my family. Johnny and Tina were there, so we played a few games of Magic and stuff... We saw an episode of the new animated Masters of the Universe... I donno, I grew up with that show (the original, anyways) as a kid, and most things we knew as children don't hold the same appeal when we're adults... I will say that they stayed pretty true to all the characters, cybernetic implants aside. I also saw Larry, who actually got his hair cut, and looks pretty sharp again. He said that producers/directors are leery of hiring actors with long hair, as they may be unwilling to cut it... He had his hair slicked back, and was wearing toe-to-head black, including laced-up armlets. Josh said he'd made the transition from Goth to actor. I'd say he was still straddling the line. I did kind of like the look, though. He tore Tim apart in pool, until he scratched on the 8-ball.
Earlier in the evening I got a call from my newly-made friend, Carly. Rather, it was more an IM that we had, but one might as well be the other. During the conversation, it dawned on me that I'd be up around CUA anyways, and I asked if she'd wanted company and/or a ride to the airport. She necessarily agreed (I'd be saving her $30), and so I left the party around 11 (everyone else was already leaving anyways), and got down to Carly's room around Midnight. I just kinda hung around while she packed, laughed at her packing method (who takes stuff OUT after they already packed it, routinely?), and just kinda sat around until 4am. She and her roomie were busy, though -- they were both packing, and then moving their furniture around into a new lay out. Her roomie, Danielle, was quite amusing! She was just really giggly and easily amused, childishly-cute, it was grand. Carly and I left around 4:30 for her flight at 8:30.
Of course, it had been snowing for a few hours, and so there was a nice amount of accumulation, without much clearing done. We took the roads reasonably slowly, and didn't have any snow-type fishtail-like scares. It did however take us 2 hours to drive up there. And then we found that her flight to Hawaii through Chicago was canceled, but then just as quickly got her on a flight to Hawaii through St. Louis, leaving at 8am instead. So that was all good.
Driving back was the peak of snow accumulation, and it took me nearly three hours to get back down there. And I had to pee the whole way! (I'm toostupid stubborn to stop somewhere on the way.) I got onto Campus, used the bathroom, and then crashed on the couch in my apartment.
For a few hours, anyways. Curtis woke me up not too-too long afterward, cleaning up the kitchen of funky stuff which would be arguing politics when we got back if something wasn't done. We packed his stuff into the car, went to noon Mass at the shrine, and then headed home. By that time, all that was left on the road was slush, so it was a mostly-uneventful trip back. When we got Home, I showed Curtis the bathroom, TV, Computer, and Josh (who could help him with anything he needed) and went to crash for a few hours upstairs. Dad woke me a bit later, suggesting I go 'entertain my guest,' and I went downstairs to find that he hadn't moved since I'd gone to sleep. We played some Magic, then he, Josh, and I got hooked on old-skool Nintendo games, particularly a MicroMachines racing game which is too much fun. -laughs- Mom looked at me sideways when, after dinner, I excitedly suggested we go back downstairs and play MicroMachines!
Mom made Pizza for dinner. Anyone who's had my mom's pizza knows what this means. Curtis, predictably, loved it. He thinks she should deliver to CUA.
This morning I was, apparently, the last one up at nearly 10am. Nothing very big happened, played some more MicroMachines, then I took Curtis out to the Airport, stopping at Comics MD to get some more MtG cards... They're having a Type-2 Tournament on the 27th... Got home, we had steak for dinner, Lydia called and we made final plans for getting to Bal'mer tomorrow for Tolkien and... now I'm here.
And I think now I'll go to bed. Again.
