Work Again

Whee fun.
Sitting here at work again.
Hopefully my boss with show up today, so that (a)I can get some more to work on, and (b)he can sign my time sheet and I can get paid.

Usually on Thursdays, I work from 8:00-11:30 then go back for class, and finish back here from 3:30-6:00. Today my class is canceled, though, so I'm gonna see if I can stick it out here until 2:00 and get my day off in one shot. If my boss doesn't show up before I leave... Wow, it's gonna be nearly a month since the last time I saw him! In some states, that would declare him legally dead. Or something.

Taking a cue from Tuesday, I came prepared for hunger today -- I brought cereal! And not just some cereal, I brought the whole box of cereal in my bag. I also bought a Ginger Ale from down the hall. I like ginger ale, but it doesn't have caffeine. The only thing left down there that does have caffeine is Pepsi, which I still think it far too sweet.

Feeling kind of useless as a friend, lately. Or something. Nothing big, I just feel like I've been really absent from LiveJournal, in particular, and I haven't been around for my friends. And when I have, I don't think I've been effective; I think I've made things worse.

Managed to get my Roomie, Zack, onto LJ. Anastasiya, the only other person here who knows Zack, has already found him. Most likely, of course, because he told her. -grins-

Saw Miss Becky Croft online again last night, and she said that they were gonna be pretty non-busy after about the 18th, so if I wanted to visit, that'd be the time. We made plans for me to go down and have dinner with them on that Saturday -- and Becky's gonna cook. -grins- This makes me happy, cause I getta see Becky, and Emily's gonna be home, and food and such and stuff.

And today's Random love goes to my dear cousin Meredith, who is both cool and Rachel's sister. -laughs- She needs to use that Journal of hers more often, both for making comments and for posting. And she needs to IM me more often, too. *nods to this*

Cereal and ginger ale huh?

Reminds me of when we were kids. My brother was the biggest, and oldest. Mom never got up to fix breakfast, the three of us kids were responsible to get our own. It was always cereal and milk. If there was only enough milk for one bowl of cereal, my brother would get it, one way or another. Then my sister and I would have to make do with kool aid. I still have the picture in my minds eye of those fruit loops floating in the red kool aid. Sugar fortified breakfast!!

I've always been one of those 'weird kids' who ate cereal dry. Every once in a while I've had milk on my Rice Crispies or something, but I usually just pour it in a bowl and munch. So sitting here at work, eating fistfulls of cereal right from the box sitting in my bag... Yeah, it's kinda like home.

My grandpa does that all the time! He uses orange juice though! My mom and uncles and aunt still laugh about the cereal and juice. My grandpa makes the arguement that it's just like drinking your juice and eating your cereal... they all get mixed up in your stomach eventually! :-) That's classic.
