Another Weekend Update

Wow. There's so much for me to say. ^_^;; I've actually been meaning to write a bunch of stuff -- loss of innocence, violence in the media, growing up, the nature of choice, and other more esoteric things -- but I haven't gotten to sit down and write any of them up. And now I'm sitting to write about my weekend, and I fear putting it all into one post, as then no one will read it. ^_^;;
Erk. O.o That was the nastiest cough drop I've ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth! My throat's a little mucus-y today, and I asked Curtis for some cough drops. They were rancid. O.o
No idea where I would have gotten a cold, though... On with the weekend!
Friday the 31st
Anastasiya wanted me to go out with her on Halloween; there were a couple parties or such and stuff, and I wasn't really doing anything, anyways. Unfortunately, I didn't have a costume, and I'm rather bad at pulling things together. She suggested I wear my black pants/shirt/shoes and go as a Catholic priest, and I rather enjoyed they idea. I tried catching one of the priests around school and asking to borrow their roman collar, but to no avail. So, I was a priest without the collar -- ie, a guy in black. When I got up there, a rather-less-than-sober Jenny (not my sister, she was otherwise occupied) said she had a pair of devil-horns, and those added to my black garb would work wonders. Sadly, she never found the, so I just went as a Guy in Black.
We -- we being Asya, Tina, Jenny, Ashley, Brandon (I think?, he was Ashley's lil'brother) andPeter Erich (again, not sure of the name, he was Jenny's boy), and I -- went up to ... I just blanked on his name. Starts with a 'L' if I recall... really cool Army ROTC (i think) guy. We had mudslides, munchies, and watched Evil Dead... Yeah, that movie's not nearly as... watchable as Army of Darkness. It was cool, but we were trying to get a taxi to take us to Fell's Point, where something was going on, and *none* of the cab places were even answering. At about 10:00 we said goodbye to... Leon Joel (?) and crew, and went to meet our party's Other Half.
Our Other Half consisted of Asya's RA (Name Witheld), his boyfriend, and a random assortment of other people, none of whom I got the impression knew our group much at all. But maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, they'd gone to an off-campus party so that (Name Witheld) could drink, and drink he did! When we got there, both he and a little thing of a girl, Kim, were thoroughly thrashed. Neither could walk very well at all without assistance, and though both were talking, neither was making any sense. Kim staggered off toward her boyfriend's place, followed by... RandomGirl-A, who was playing Guardian with the poor girl. Ashley went with RA (Name Witheld) to the bathroom, and Asya, Tina, Peter, Brandon and I sat and talked while (Name Witheld)'s boyfriend talked with RandomGirl-B.
To make a long story short (too late!), we never got a taxi to Fell's Point, Kim and (Name Witheld) both threw-up, on themselves, we had them ferried over toPeter's Erich's place to get cleaned up, where Asya, Tina, and I saw a Rent-a-Cop and bolted, only to learn later that he didn't do anything, but that they had to call an ambulance for Kim out of fear of alcohol poisoning (she was OK, just very sick), and she got written up anyways. Oh, and Brandon was the coolest guy there. *nods*
The three of us went back to Asya's, ordered pizza, and just kinda hung out.
Saturday
Saturday, Anastasiya and I were supposed to get together with Trevor and Rose -- they wanted a ride out to the store, and thought it'd be a nice excuse to hang out with me and her. This wasn't so bad, as I needed food, too. After weighing the possibilities, we chose to go the the Commissary instead of CostCo. We went and got food and stuff, then Trevor wanted to go down to Potomac Mills to check out the outlets, and we got food at T.G.I.Fridays, where I learned they had chinese dumplings as an appetizer. The waitress, while cynical and sarcastic, was great and not only liked chinese dumplings and French Onion Soup (points from me), but also got points from having just moved from Hawaii (that's Rose's State) and she's married to a Navy Guy. She got about a 25% tip. Which is good, seeing as I'm notoriously a poor tipper...
After getting the food back, Anastasiya hung out in my room, where she played MtG with Chris, Curtis, and I. She doesn't believe me, I fear, but she's taking to the game pretty well. I'm afraid I'm not a very good teacher (Rachel? Claire?), but she seems to have a decent grasp of things. And since missing the chance to kill that Angel and win the game, I'm gonna keep my mouth shut when she's playing, from now on.
Sunday
So Sunday morning I get a call from my parents informing me that, as of 6am, I was an uncle... again! Jenny went into labor at about 1am on Saturday, and Stephanie Elizabeth was born early in the morning. My day was then spent driving a total of 8 hours to go down and see my sister and her daughter and then get back up to school at a semi-reasonable time.
It was funny, though. Soon after my parents called, Jenny called me. And when I picked up the phone, it wasn't "Hey," or "I had my baby!" or "Good Morning," but rather "I didn't know you were dating anyone!" I'd forgotten that I'd told Beth H. not but a few days ago about Anastasiya and I, and so when Beth and Jenny were talking, I apparently popped into the conversation... Jenny got upset when I was there, because apparently my parents acted like they knew the whole time (and, generally, I'm sure they 'knew' the whole time), but just after they left the hospital, they called me and asked, "So, are you guys Officially dating?"
And so, yes, for those who didn't already know it, Anastasiya and I are 'officially together.' w00+ and such. ^_^;;

Date: 2003-11-03 04:35 pm (UTC)And as for my having a girlfriend, I suppose I never came out and said it as such, but I'm sure I've implied it pretty heavily (http://www.livejournal.com/users/roliasnoom/262650.html) on a number of occasions. While I might have been hesitant to just tell my parents, I was pretty sure everyone here knew.
-smiles- Regardless, you and I really need to sit down and catch up -- I haven't talked to you in ages.
Well...
