Hey all,

Well, that ends the first week of classes. Unfortunately, I think I'm securely set on the path toward slackerdom again this semester. I missed one class already (forgot it was at 1:30, not 2:30), I've done little more than a few problems on any of my homework, and I only just now got any of my books. Whee. Of course, my roomies seem to think I'm never around the room, being that I'm always at work or class. Or home, as I am now. Of course, after spending time in the Ryan Girls' apartment and Katie's Trailer, Our Place looks pretty trashy... I guess there's only so much you can expect college guys t'do, but one would think trash and dishes would be included.

As I noted, I did spend time at the Ryan Girls' place. they're so called because when I met them Freshman year, they lived in Ryan Hall. -shrugs- I'm a simple guy. It was cool, though; Amber, Becky, Meg, John, and I (with a little interlude of Pat) all hung out and ordered chinese and such. I got steamed wonton; I love wonton. Meg also had me laughing so hard I was literally wheezing on the floor. It didn't help much that my throat'd already been raw, but...

Today, I had my classes and then threw a few things together and headed out to Front Royal, to pick my brother up t'go home. He needed to get some stuff from home, and I needed to get some things off his computer. Not, you know, that I was hoping to meet one of the ladies at his school, or anything.

Though, the fact that I did didn't hurt. I was waiting for Gene t'get out of class, and a lady came across the parking lot in a pretty black-type dress. Now, where I'm from, girls hardly wear skirts, let alone dresses. She had a package, and was going into the building I was in front of, so I opened the door for her. A bit after, she came out with some papers, and stopped to write some notes and such, and being that we were both standing there, she decided to introduce herself.

"I'm sorry," she said, extending her hand, "I'm afraid I've forgotten your name."

As a note, two people said this to me. It seems I look familiar without ever having been there. Ye-ah, there's a slight family resemblance in my, uh, family.

Smiling, "I'm Andrew, and I don't go here."

We chatted for a bit, and she told me her name was Suzanna. She's a Sophomore English major, and so we talked a bit about English and Philosophy, and how I envy her school, and how mine lacks the sort of Community hers seems to have; I told her that I'd never met a sophomore, let alone a freshman (she knew of my brother, who's a freshman there this year), and how that lack of community is really beginning to get to me. We talked for a bit more, I made some Philosophy vs. English comment on how "It's more fun to think than to write," and then we had to part ways.

For anyone who's keeping tabs, brunette, brown eyes.

And now we're here at home. Dad cooked steak, and we're about to watch a movie downstairs as a family. I need to take Gene back to Christendom tomorrow so he can set up for a Saturday Night Luau (he's the AV Grunt for work-study). I'm thinking I may stick around for the party myself.

And so, right. There's my update and such. I need to either lay down, or get a caffeine IV...
