*cracks open a cold soda*
Well, here I am, in my room, and unpacked.
Well, not unpacked, really. But my Computer's hooked up, and that's all that matters. *grins* I'm a bit dirty and sticky and smelly -- it was a beautiful day out, cool and breezy and such, but moving the amount of junk I have will make most anyone break a sweat, regardless of weather.
Claimed my bed on the first trip -- I was the first guy in, aside from Zach, who moved in several weeks early for Debate. Went and got the rest of myself, then Mom and Dad took me to the Commissary t'get food. Two-hundred dollars worth. My mommy loves me. ^_^
I'm living in an Apartment on Campus this year with four other guys, Chris, Zach, Curtis, and Mike. Chris seems like a really cool guy, as does Zach -- in fact, I think Zach and I have a lot in common, and Leslie (Run Lola Run, Babylon 5) and Rachel (When Harry Met Sally and another one which escapes me) would both approve of his DVD collection. Zach seems to be an easy going "I don't mind if you take as long as you put back" kinda gamer-geek turned Football fan. Chris is, well, Irish, so he gets points right off for that.
Unfortunately, I'm less than thrilled with the other half of my Roomies. Mike and Curtis are both friends (with eachother, I hardly know anyone I'm living with!), and generally I have no issues with Either. Mike can actually be a pretty cool guy, and we even connected when I expressed my love for Musicals. However, Mike was the one who had had issues with my laugh (for those who don't know, it's 'noteworthy'), and my driving. Curtis seems to be cool enough, too, but we're already having Territory Issues. He wants his desk across from his bed, which is exactly where I want my bookshelf, at the bottom of my bed. And having his desk just out in front of the entrance way as it does (not obstructive, just unsightly) isn't very cool, either. We'll prolly sort it out; I don't think it's worth a Room War over.
In other news, I saw a lot of old friends t'day. Bumped into Dave at Registration, and Leigh-Anne (who was upset I wouldn't be working at DSS anymore) was running the keys. I also saw Becky later this, as I was taking groceries out of my car, and this afternoon I bumped into Amber as I was getting my Student ID. She's really cool.
Additionally, I ran into a girl as I was leaving my building. I recognized her and nodded my hello, and then she recognized me. She said she didn't know I was living in Millennium North (my building), and I told her I was sure I'd told her. I told her I was on the second floor, and she said she was on the 4th -- she was also dressed up as a Freshman Orientation Assistant. Several minutes later, as dad and I drove over to the Security Building, I remembered her name, Andrea. Several more minutes later, as Dad and I were leaving Campus, I remembered how I knew her; She and I were in Religion class together last year, and we had out 'Student-Teacher' conference together (our teacher took us in pairs, and it was random chance that Andrea and I ended up in the same slot). Before the conference we chatted a bit and we got along pretty well and such. The next day I found out she was in my Small Group (which met every friday) as well (this was easily half-way through the semester).
So, right. I think I may see if Andrea wants to get coffee sometime, or something equally arbitrary.
I'm still really considering transferring out, and Steubenville, Ohio, is looking more and more like my eventual choice, should it come to that. I'm going to contact their Admissions and start discussing credits and the like.
Oh, and Mom got me a new CD, Cirque, which was used in this awesome circus-type French show thing at Busch Gardens last year. It's sweet. Rachel, what's the circus-type show you were pointing out to me at Suncoast, I think I wanna see about watching some sometime.
