Stuff and Such

Well, let's see, what's to say...
Today's Dustin's last day here at the Lab. His Internship is up, and next Wednesday he flies down to Florida to start his graduate education. It's definitely going to be a different place around here after he's gone -- but I only technically have another four days of work before I go part-time, so...
He did note that I am the only one he's ever talked two who argued a point on a morally-charged issue without ever bringing religion into it. I appreciate this muchly. The issue? Abortion. I've done my homework. -nods to this-
Checked up on my Amazon Order, and while I'll have the MegaTokyo book and Blood Treachery (another Mage book) as early as next Tuesday (they were shipped today), the estimated arrival of my Hermetics book isn't until September 3rd! The cruelty!
It's coming down to the end of the summer -- which means everything is happening all at once. O.o I'm really hoping to be able to let myself relax this next week at Ohio. I head up this coming Wednesday. w00+
Claire's supposed to get home from her camp on Sunday.
We're cleaning the house for a party this weekend, for Gene's completion of highschool.
I told Gene that I didn't think he'd be done his work before 6:00am on Sunday. He should be finished this afternoon. Yup, I know how to make things happen. -grins-
Oh, and I emailed CPIT, seeing if they would have a job for me this fall. Immediately, they wrote back: "Yes, of course, in fact, we're counting on you. In fact, we need you now - are you in town?" -laughs- I told them I'm rather occupied until school starts, but that's pretty definite, don't you think? Now just need to tell DSS that I can't afford to work for them this year, and everything'll be good.
So many things jumping around my head, it makes it hard to think. O.o
Need to relax...

Date: 2003-08-08 05:54 am (UTC)Yes, it is. They'll pay me very nicely for a job on Campus (and not so bad for a job in general), and I'll be working with code (specifically ColdFusion, SQL, and HTML).
I want to get away from DSS, though. They pay me less, and they have me (mostly) doing secretary work. The closest I get to working with Computers is loading Accessibility software onto the computers. The people there are OK, but I've come to like me boss there less and less over the last two years. And since every hour I work for them is one hour I can't work for CPIT (and since DSS pays quite a bit less), I really can't afford to work for them anymore.
