So, I'm back in DC after being up at my cousin's for the last four or five days. It was really great to be up there; I felt good in a way that I haven't felt in a considerable time. Good in a way that I can't adequately express. It was like a taste of happy.

While I was there, we watched 'Saw', 'The Notebook', and 'Constantine', all of which I generally liked, though they all seemed to be just a little bit predictable. And Constantine seemed self-contradictory at points (see: 'We're finger puppets to them' vs 'no direct intervention' and others). To take another line from a friend, good 'popcorn movies', but nothing spectacular. Almost saw '28 Days Later', but didn't know we had it until too late.

Now I'm back in DC, and feeling a bit sick, though I think it's mostly psychological. I called out of work, but I have every intention of spending the day working on what I can get done for Senior Design. I also have to meet with one of my teacher's at a little after 3:00. We'll see how it all goes.

Here's a meme I got from [livejournal.com profile] xiombarg, who got it from [livejournal.com profile] zombie_dog (who possibly got it from the mouth of a gelatinous extra-dimensional entity. Hey, it could happen). I haven't quite finished chewing on Xiombarg's quotes, but I wanted to pass it on in the meantime, to see if anyone can get somewhere with these:

Option #1:
"But, there IS no 'fun' in 'State Correctional Facility'."

Option #2:
In a circumstance like this most people would hope to land in something soft, but not quite like this.

Use one of the above lines as the basis for a paragraph or more of a story and post it here (in a comment to this entry).
Then post your own random quotes into your LJ and see what other people come up with.

Stability results were moderately high which suggests you are relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.

Orderliness results were medium which suggests you are moderately organized, hard working, and reliable while still remaining flexible, efficient, and fun.

Extraversion results were moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly talkative, outgoing, sociable and interacting at the expense of developing your own individual interests and internally based identity.

Trait snapshot:
social, outgoing, worry free, optimistic, upbeat, tough, likes large parties, makes friends easily, rarely irritated, open, enjoys leadership, trusting, dominant, thrill seeker, strong, does not like to be alone, assertive, mind over heart, confident, controlling, feels desirable, likes the spotlight, loves food, social chameleon, hard working, concerned about others

Bookmark for me. I'm thinking it could come in handy for my story, thoygh this here seems to have a lot of overlap. There was, I'm told, a whole 'language' of flowers, with different types and collors and arrangements meaning different things. I'd be interested in finding out more on this.

In a similar vein, there was a 'language of fans', as well, with different motions of a lady's hand fan (like those cheap folding chinese ones you can get at places) denoted different messages as well.

Speaking without speaking is a curious thing, particularly if it might also be a hidden thing.
