Thanksgiving
Dec. 1st, 2002 11:39 pmBy a large margin, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Food, family, and food - what more could you ask for? But even at that, it was just a footnote in my week. Just one more thing we did.
I went up to Ohio and spent the week with my Cousins, Rachel, Kate, and Meredith, who are all just wonderous. I fear it was 'generally' assumed that I was there to visit with Rachel - which I was, don't get me wrong, but I was at least as excited to Kate and Mere. This also isn't to say Rachel herself did anything wrong, simply to point out that I think all three of the girls are grand.
Don't tell her I said so, but Mere is a really pretty girl. We all knew she would be, and I'm sure she knows it, too. She actually reminds me alot of Kate, especially with her mannerisms. maybe she's a little more fashion-concious, and a bit more perky, but the two of them do still have alot in common.
Hanging out with Rachel was grand. We went to a production meeting, which was muchly entertaining ("I can't play with them...") and managed, over the span of several days, to watch all of Kevin Smith's movies. The first day was Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy (which really got to me ^_^;; ), then a day each for Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob.... By the by, JSBSB is really quite meaningless unless you've seen all his other movies, and I'm told it helps to have seen Good Will Hunting. We also saw the new Bond flick (which wasn't too bad) and got some grand conversation time in, too, mostly on Day 2 and Day 4, I want to say. It was loverly.
She also has a tendancy to remind me of an 8-year-old. But that's OK, seeing as I quite often act like a 6-year-old.
The three of them all have to len to give me a little more trust, as well - I like to think I've quite matured since we last saw eachother, and if I say I won't, I won't.
At one time we also got over to see Jenny B's for a little dinner-and-movie night. We had pizza and three movies, and played a couple games of Cranium - there was Me, the three girls, Jenny B and Clare. Jenny B I remember from long long ago, one of the first times I was over at their place, and I rather hope she remembered me as well. Clare was new, but she was also a lefty, funny, and pretty. It was all good. The four of us slept over on Jenny B's floor, but Clare had to leave at 1am.
And, uhm, yeah, I guess that was pretty much about it.
