jackofallgeeks: (Contemplative)
Claire gave me a call today to work out the kinks of our Nekocon trip. Seems we now have Eight people going - Four guys and Four girls. This means we need a second driver, which means I'll be driving, the significance of which means I will not be in the car with Claire.
Further more, of the Eight, I know Three - Myself, Louis, and Claire. Which leaves Five unfamiliar faces in our group. I'm mildly disappointed by this fact.
I'm scared. I really don't know what it's going to be like, seeing her again - particularly in the given circumstances. I foresee feeling very out of place, unwanted, and alone. Which would suck, because I really want to enjoy this Con, Claire or No Claire. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to take the emotional strain, a taste of which I fear I experience everytime I hear her voice.
^_^;; I guess, in a way, if she's going to have five of her friends there, what does she need me for?

I also fear that having my car down there might nessesitate a trip to the Crofts, another set of people I'm afraid would be just as well off if I didn't make an appearance.

Well, today was kinda blah - one of those days that you forget about before 7:00 at night.

Philosophy class was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. Mailed off my Application (2-day delivery for $3.50) and then came back and slept for a few hours. Literature class was about the same, though one guy came in dressed as a member of a generic '70s Hair Band, and I saw Brookie walking around dressed as an Oompa Loompa (orange face-paint and everything). I thought about doing something, but I couldn't really get a costume t'gether - no materials.

My dad called me up and took me out to Dinner - at Portner's of all places. It's in Alexandria, and it's this old Firehouse that someone made into a restaurant a long while back. The guy who owned the place was never himself a Portner, rather there was a famous beer brewer, it seems, in Alexandria who was a Portner. ::Shrugs:: Germans. In any case, this was the Virginia Portners, as opposed to the Pennsylvania Portners, from whom my family was decended.

Great steak, though - best I've had in some long while. They were also decorated for Halloween, including all the employees dressed up - our waiters were a Vampire and an Inmate. The hostess, when we came in, had this (exagerated) pink bowtie and a pair of bunny ears, and when she turned around, she had a little puff-ball to complete the outfit. ^_^;; Forgive me, but it was quite a temptation to say "Hey, nice tail." ^_^;; I didn't, butt...

Anyways, Got home and kinda sat around, listening to some music, and decided to scour KaZaA for some suitable music for the evening. At 11:00 they're showing Silence of the Lambs, and if I can find a friend (or six) to go with, I think I might head over there. I'm such a wuss... we'll see.

Quote of the Day: Every man dies. Not every man really lives.
