Mar. 27th, 2002 12:44 pmI couldn't sleep last night. ><* I got in bed at a little before 2am (we'll say 1:53, for argument's sake), and I'm sure it was well after 3am when I fell asleep. I was tossing and turning alot. Friday, friday, friday...
I love this song. When Savatage tries, they truely have beautiful music.
"Father can you hear me? This is not how it was meant to be. I am safe and so are you, as for the others, destiny."
Got up this morning at 8:00, amazingly awake. Turned in my English paper, but I fear I lost points because I forgot my rough draft. I also need to get photocopied pages from some books down in GM. Argh. Class, however, was very entertaining. We read a poem by Shakespeare about love. Generally, it seemed to be about the constant-ness of love, but the more and more Mr. Marshall led us through it, it almost seemed ironic, in that he was twisting his own words - yeah, he was saying it was constant, but he meant for it to sarcastically imply that i wasn't, that love failed. From there, it fell into falic symbolism, which oddly enough wasn't as large a stretch as one might think...it was an amusing class.
On the way to Physics, I saw Mary, looking a bit upset. She was tired, sick, hungover, had no voice, and couldn't find change for a $5 so she could get a soda to make it through class. I had hoped to have change, but I only had a $1 and a $10. I gave her the $1, anyways, and she was really happy. ^^ That was good.
In Physics, we talked about Relativity. To quote Einstein himself - "Put your hand on a hot iron for a minute, and it feels like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it feels like a minute. That's Relativity." I like that guy. I really, really like that guy.
But seriously, folks, it's simply this - you can't really say one person is moving and another isn't, because it's all based on a reference frame. Change the reference, and suddenly the motion is different. Furthermore, velocity alters reality. As speed increases, lengths shrink and time slows. At the speed of light, there is no second dimention (no length), and time stands still. Theoretically, if you were to surpass the speed of light, time would move backwards. of course, it's also theoretically impossible to surpass the speed of light - it simply can't happen. That, and you're length would be a negative number. What would THAT mean?
I love relativity.
Afterwards, I went to lunch, and talked with Becky and Brooklyn. I like those girls. Then I moved and sat with Lauren, Katie, Jack, and Sarah. Kevin came to sit with us, too. After lunch, I walked with Jack, and we had a great philosophical conversation about Ideas, the meaning of existance, semantic nonsense, and the general human-ness behind philosophy itself. It was great intellectual stimulation. I think, on friday, Claire and I should have a conversation. Like that. I mean. ^^;;
Jack also wants me to go out with him and a couple guys for Italian. How can I refuse? Anyways, it'll kill time between now and friday. Tomarrow I go to the bank and get a haircut, prolly pick up Subway for lunch, too. And I'll finally shave, I think.
