(1) The singular boring question: What is your name?
I go by many names, but some call me... Andrew. I think, in future surveys, I
may drop basic questions like this. If you're reading my journal, odds are
you know who I am, and if not, you can go back and read my Older Surveys.
-laughs- If you're reading my journal, odds are you aren't reading the
surveys, I think...

(2) If you had been born a member of the opposite sex, what would your name
have been?

Judging from my little sister's name, I would have guessed 'Elizabeth.' I'm
told this is the case. In fact, my mom had wanted to name Jenny 'Elizabeth' but conceeded the point to my father. There's youre useless fact for the day.

(3) Would you name a child of yours after you?
No, actually. I like my name and all, but I have no interest in a Junior.
Even aside from the troubles it causes at time ("Andrew? Which one?"), I also
have this thing with names... -shrugs- Suffice it to say that individuality
in one's name is important to me.

(4) If you had to switch first names with a friend of yours, who would you
switch with?

Well, there is Steve...

(5) What's the way people most often mispronounce any part of your
name?

They 'forget' that there's an 'n' in my last name. It is irksome.

(6) If you were to become famous, would you drop your last name (like
Madonna, Cher, Roseanne)?

-laughs- That's a pretty big if, seeing as I in no way ever want to be a
celebrity... but no, I think I'd keep my name, as is.

DEEP THEOLOGICAL QUESTIONS
(7) Do you believe in the traditional view of Heaven and Hell?

Yes, I do, but I'm not thoroughly convinced that most other people I know
do.  ^_^;;

(8) Do you think God has a gender?
-contemplates- At first glance, I was going to laugh and say 'of course not,
God is outside the physical realm.' Additionally, if one understands the
purpose of gender, trying to apply that to God is just ridiculous -- what
would God need with sex organs? But then, thinking about it... I'm a
Christian, and as such necessarily believe that Jesus of Nazareth was/is God.
Logically, then, I must believe that God has a gender, that being male.
Wow, that was enough brainwork for one day... the implications...  O.o

(9) Do you think science counteracts religion?
There have, at times, been scientists who tried to use their findings to
disprove religion, but it has not and can not succeed. Truth can not
contradict truth.

(10) Do you believe in organized religion?
I very much believe in organized religion, but I do not believe in blindly
following a given creed. I have more respect for someone who truely believes
in their faith than one who simply 'subscribes' to an 'accepted' religion.
By the same token, I do believe there is but one truth, don't get me wrong. I
just think that it's wrong for one to claim they believe when they don't. Do
you follow?

(11) Where do you think we go when we die?
I don't think we go anywhere. Heaven and hell aren't so much places as
states of being...

(12) Do you feel a little funny thinking about the questions in this
section?

Not in the slightest. I find it all quite engaging.

HUMOUR
(13) How easy is it to make you laugh?

-laughs- Very easy. Infact, I rather have a reputation for it.

(14) What person you know makes you laugh the most?
Uhm, gee... I'm not really sure...  ^_^;;

(15) Do you laugh at jokes you know you shouldn't?
Humor is a funny thing (no pun intended). Some things just don't strike me as
humorous, while other seemingly simple things really tickle me. I am not a
fan of slap-stick, generally (pulled off well, it has it's moments), and by
the same token I am rarely amused by crude humor.

(16) Do you tell jokes you know you shouldn't?
I'm not often the one telling jokes, period.  ^_^;;

(17) What words instantly make you laugh or at least smile?
Kumquat, marmot, skoshi...

(18) What do you think is the funniest thing you've ever said or
written?

I don't think I'm all that funny, really...

MUSIC
(19) Do you ever dance to music when nobody's watching?

-laughs- I probably should wait until no one's watching, huh? -wince-
I often just sit and bounce or tap my foot along with the music... I attribute
it as an after-effect of my time as a musician...

(20) What is/are the worst song(s) you have ever heard?
Uhm, wow... wow... So much I could say, I'm not even sure what to put down
here... Much as I LOVE music, there's so pretty painful stuff out there...

(21) What song(s) do you wish you could understand a little better?
Perhapse anything by They Might Be Giants. It does seem they're saying
something deeper, but I can't often find it...

(22) What song(s) are constantly in your head?
None, really... Every now and then something pops in, but my brain has trouble retaining much of anything for very long...

(24) If you were to serenade the object of your affections, which song(s)would
you use?

"The Closest Thing" by The Juliana Theory, perhapse.

(25) If the object of your affections were to serenade you, what song(s)would
you hope he or she used?

-smiles- I'm not picky.

MOVIES
(26) What movie(s) do you love that nobody else seems to?

The Last Unicorn, though it might be understandable.... Though, apparently, this Jibrille girl liked it... -shrugs-

(27) Do you agree with the idea that sequels are always worse than the
original?

I have yet to find the exception which proves this rule.
Gee, i don't know if that's a 'yes' or a 'no.'  ^_^;;

(28) Who's your favorite Star Wars character?
It's a VERY tight race between Obi-Wan and Vader. Vader Rocks Hardcore, but Obi-Wan's always been -just cool-. They both got the shaft in the Prequal Trilogy, though I think Obi-wan took it better...

(29) What kind of movie do you think there should be more of?
-laughs- Stuff I'm willing to watch?
No, actually, I think they should be more 'mind-fuck' movies. You know, the kind where, at the end of the movie, you're on your knees gripping you head screaming "The thinking! It BURNS!"
That kind.

(30) What movie(s) do you simply not understand the appeal of?
Seen anything recent by Adam Sandler? Yeah, those.

FOOD
(31) When eating, are you more concerned with taste or healthiness?

Taste.

(32) What's your favorite kind of cheese?
Munster or motzerella.

(33) What do you think your answer to the previous question reveals about your
personality?

The same thing that me liking French Vanilla ice cream says, probably.

(34) If you knew exactly what went into Chinese food, hamburger meat, etc.,
would you still eat it?

-laughs- I'd say no, but odds are 'yes.' I can't really say, though, as I generally DON'T know.

(35) Do you ever feel guilty eating meat?
Heavens no.

COMPUTERS
(36) Mac or PC?

Macs have always just kinda... creeped me out...

(37) How much do you actually care about the inner workings of your computer,
as long as it works?

-shivers- In a pragmatic way, I don't really CARE what's in my box, as long as it runs correctly. The scholar/geek in me gets shivers when I think about it... Do you realize everything you do on that box infront of you is accomplised by just using 'yes' and 'no?'

(38) Do you ever begin preferring IMs to other forms of conversation?
Mmmm... no, not generally. They're convenient, but I think I'd much rather speak in person. i'm even starting to enjoy the phone...

(39) Do you find you're different talking through IMs than face-to-face or on
the telephone?

-laughs- Yes. I think i'm generally less ihibited Online, under most circumstances.

(40) Have you ever ended bid on something on eBay and regretted it later?
I'm the sort of guy who feels guilty whenever he spends money. Of course, I also feel guilty if I go into a store and don't buy anything, so... yeah, I just don't like shopping, period. -giggles-

THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES
(41) Have you ever wished you could experience being the other gender?

-nods- Yeah, I have. Surprised?

(42) What do you love most about the other gender?
Mmmmm.... I like the emotion they have, I think... Does that make any sense?

(43) What do you dislike most about the other gender?
-laughs- I would hazard to say there's very little I dislike about them....

(44) What do you understand least about the other gender?
Why they never seem to realize how much they're really worth...

CELEBRITIES
(45) Do you sometimes see a movie or watch a show just because a good-looking
celebrity is in it?

-laughs- No, not really.

(46) What celebrity's autograph do you want most?
-shrugs-

(47) Have people ever said you looked like a celebrity, and if so, who?
Someone once said that I looked just like a guy who looked like Ryan Stiles. Does that count? -giggles-

(48) If there was to be a movie about you, who do you think should play you
(in personality, looks or both)?

Keanu Reeves? Dude like, woah. -shrugs- Vash doesn't count, huh?

(49) Does it ever annoy you when you know someone is a celebrity but you can't
remember why?

Uhm, that's... never happened...

(50) If you could enter any celebrity's mind like in "Being John Malkovich",
whose would you enter?

Never saw the movie, and i'm really not all that into celebrities.

(51) Do you want to be them?
Who, celebrities? -laughs- No, I'll stay Anyoneofus, thank you.

NUMBERS
(52) Do you laugh when you hear or read the number 69?

Uhm, not since I got out of middle school...

(53) Were you lying about your answer to the previous question?
-laughs- Wow, that's all there is to say to that. Wow.

(54) Do you actually know your Social Security Number?
Yeah, it happens when you go to college.

(55) Do you actually know your IP address?
Not fully off the top of my head, but I know the first six digits easy, and can find the others.

(56) Do you know what an IP address is?
I refer you back to (53).

(57) Do you know the four-character extension on your ZIP code?
No, nor have I ever cared.

(58) Ever thought there were too many numbers floating around in our lives?
Wheels within Wheels, my friend. Wheels within Wheels.

(59) Does your head begin to hurt when you think of infinity, imaginary
numbers, irrational numbers, etc.?

-GRINS- Oh no. No, not at all. -shivers- I eat that stuff up, you. The more abstract the better.

(60) What do you think of pi?
It's infinitely better than e.

LOVE, SEX AND ALL THAT
(61) Did you get a little frightened or uncomfortable seeing this as a section
title?

Uhm, no, not really. -shrugs-

(62) If someone you had no interest in dating expressed interest in dating
you, how would you feel?

It's happened before, and once it was a girl, too. -shrugs- I donno, it'd be a little odd, but...

(63) Do you prefer getting to know someone first before dating them or going
in "blind"?

I don't think I've ever been on a Blind Date, unless you count that set-up back in Freshman Year. but I don't, so... -shrugs- I'm willing to try anything twice.

(64) Could you carry on a relationship with someone with the same first name
as a family member?

-grins- With my family, I'd probably rule out too many possibilities elsewise.

(65) Have you ever wished it was more "socially acceptable" for a girl to ask
a guy out?

-shrugs- You know, whatever. As far as I've seen, it's not even an issue.

(66) What's your opinion on sex without emotional commitment?
It's asking for alot of troubles.

(67) Have you ever been romantically attracted to someone physically
unattractive?

You may find that the more you're interested in someone, the more attractive they become.

(68) Do you think the opposite sex finds you good-looking?
-nods- Yeah, why not? I don't think I'm a -bad- looking guy, and many girls have confirmed this. So... -shrugs- Sure.

(69) Would you be willing to give up sex in exchange for an emotional
commitment you knew would last?

I don't think I understand the question. Perminently give up sex? If not, the point's moot, but if so, it sounds like any number of the friends I have now.

(70) Do you think the number of the last question was a coincidence?
Do I think the writer of this survey has an IQ over 15?

POSSESSIONS
(71) What is your favorite possession?

My pictures. I think.

(72) What physical, tangible possession do you want most?
A leather recliner. So close... so close... -cries-

(73) How badly do you want it?
He was selling it for $20! Twenty Bucks! If only there'd been a way to get it to DC...

(74) Have you ever seen 'The Exorcist'?
Yeah, it was alright.

(75) How long did it take you to understand why the last question is in this
section?

That was almost clever.
Almost.

HOLIDAYS
(76) Does Christmas music too far away from Christmas annoy you?

Very much so.

(77) How old do you think you will be before you stop liking getting older?
-shrugs- You're only as old as you think you are.

(78) What was the best Halloween costume you ever had?
Vampire. I think I was a vampire for four years in a row....

(79) What was the worst Halloween costume you ever had?
I probably did the whole 'bedsheet ghost' routine once...

(80) What holiday do you think has still managed to retain its original
meaning?

For the most part, Thanksgiving, but it really depends on who it is that's celebrating. Some celebrat holidays the way they SHOULD be celebrated.
Others watch football all day.
A good measure is the more commercial it is, the less meaning it's retained.

(81) There are currently no federal holidays during August- what should be put
there?

I don't understand, why should we put -anything- there? You don't just celebrate a holiday because there's nothing better to do. Then you end up like Hallmark.

MEMORIES
(82) How good is your short-term memory?

Huh?

(83) How good is your long-term memory?
It gets foggy, but I can remember some things way back before I was even in school... not much, mind you, but some....

(84) What is your earliest memory?
-laughs- The first really clear one is me and some of the other neighborhood boys playing with out trucks and such in that big dirt-field where they were still building that house, in Annapolis. I think I was 4. Or something.  ^_^;;

(85) What is your happiest memory (other than receiving this survey)?
Hmmmmm.... -smiles- Oh, I don't know..... -smiles-

(86) What is your strangest memory?
I can still remember that dream I had the other night....

(87) What song, movie, etc. do you wish you could memorize?
-shrugs- Uhm, I don't know... why would I want to?

TEARS
(88) What movie makes/made you cry?

Uhm.... I don't know? there was that one... Argh, but i can't remember it...

(89) What book makes/made you cry?
Cry is such a strong word, but "The Sleeping Dragon" tugged the heartstrings a bit. The ending was rather disappointing, but up until then....

(90) What song makes/made you cry?
Bunches. Music has a way with me...

(91) What makes/made you laugh so hard you cried?
-grins- Aaron missing that piece of code tonight -- yeah, I'm a geek, but wow... that was classic....

THREE TRULY RANDOM QUESTIONS
(92) Would you like to be cloned?

-laughs- Uhm, no. That's just... no.

(93) Do you wish you could be alive when the world was ending, just to
experience it?

O.o  Uhm, hows about 'no,' yes?

(94) Scaramouche, scaramouche, will you do the fandango?
This would be a great Queen Reference, if it wasn't, like, the worst line of the song.

THIS SURVEY
(95) Do you think that one hundred and one questions is too long?

Not too long, just without enough substance.

(96) Do you think the one hundred interesting questions actually were
interesting?

Uhm, no. I think you got about, oh, 46, maybe 52. The rest kinda bombed.

(97) Are you sorry you began filling it out?
Only because I think it has insulted my intelligence and the intellgence of anyone who's ever known me.

(98) What question do you wish it had asked?
What's Your Best Guess at the Author's Age?

(99) How would you have answered it?
12.

THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
(100) When was the last time you let the people you love know you love them?

As I've said, I say it all the time.

(101) What do you want the people who are reading this survey to know?
JIbrille had the right idea: "that i'm really glad you are my friends and that i can talk to you without getting snapped at."

Gackt from [livejournal.com profile] jibrille, who is now [livejournal.com profile] kawaiicatty, who was found by a mistake by [livejournal.com profile] ladyyuna (which has since been corrected).

Y'know, if you ever have any questions about TMBG's music - meanings and such - I'm something of a self-styled expert...admittedly a bit rusty these days, but...

That was probably the worst survey I have ever seen. Ever. I should send you some of Jeremy's. Now those are good surveys.
