My opinion of Bush...? -shrugs- He's a President. Which means he's a politician. Which means as a rule I don't trust him. He seems like a decent guy, and the fact that he's a practicing christian at least gives me the hope that he has some kind of moral code which I can agree with. people yank on the whole intelligence thing, but I would argue that he's got to know something to get where he is, so... I would argue he's doing at least as well as anyone else would, and it's easy for the random armchair politician to go out and attack a man who, for most intents and purposes, can not defend himself.
My opinion on the war...? War is never a good think, but sometimes it is a necessary thing. You're talking to a Navy Brat, so the thought that I might believe fighting to be wholly intolerable, I think, is a bit off. I believe whole-heartedly that sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe, you're values and all. This war? I'm still undecided. I don't know if I agree with Bush's reasons for war, but I also can't claim I know what they are. To my knowledge, Saddam is a cruel dictator who's a threat to his own people if nothing else. Though I can't say I agree that the US should be the World's Police, I can say that we are not wholly unjustified in moving to eliminate Saddam. Anything more than that, and I claim too much ignorance to really make a firm stance.

And the Christian thing gives me some hope, too...although, looking at other practicing Christians like Pat Robertson makes me realize that just 'cause somebody professes a faith in God doesn't necessarily mean they're a good person out to do only righteous things. The fact that Bush allowed the wholly intolerable Patriot Act to pass is enough to raise my eyebrows.

Indeed. A necessary evil, as it were, to undo a greater evil (we hope).
Of course...
