The biggest problem I find with making these posts at the end of the day, rather than periodically throughout the day, is that by this time the morning is getting very hazy for me. It's not often a problem, but it does typically mean I have to really concentrate in order to bring anything to the fore.

I slept in this morning. I think I woke up around 8:00, then again at 9:00. I eventually dragged myself out of bed around 11:00 when I remembered I'd set me alarm for 1:00. I took my time to shower and shave and generally wake up. Feeling refreshed, I got onto my computer and sat around messing with stuff and chatting with Kim about Katsu. I went to Mass at 4:00 and then drove to my Aunt's house for dinner.

I managed to burn a CD before hand, however. I take alot of effort on my CDs, first deciding on a general mood, pulling up the poossible songs, cutting the list down to time, and then setting the order so that it flows well. The actual track-list changes in most every phase, and I've had CDs that ended up far from what they started. Interestingly, I have had several CDs that were almost clairvoyant, in that they fit un-naturally well with a situation soon after their creation.

I'm sure it seems absurd, for me to put so much effort into burning a CD. After all, it's just music, right? Well, I'm actually proud of my CDs, considering them a sort of work of art. However, the reason that came about is practical -- I started burning CDs because I couldn't stand to put up with Commercials and I couldn't listen to any one band long enough to finish a CD. So I burned CDs specifically that I could listen to continuous music on long car rides.

I love driving. This is good because I also like travelling, but I enjoy the ride almost as much as the destination. There's something about the open road ahead of me, and the scenery rushing past me. It's freedom, in a way. I can get lost in my thoughts; I think freely and, I suspect, I speak more freely, as well. It's a great release for me, though I find it beyond difficult to just 'drive' without any destination.

Because of this, the greatest test for my CDs is necessarily a car ride. Regardless of how many times I listen to the playlist on my computer, I can't appreciate it as well unless i'm in the car. So I took this CD -- the first CD ever with a tentative name, 'Refractions' -- and listened to it on the way to my Aunt's. And I love it. It's probably my favorite CD out of everything I've ever burned. I got a CD-labeling kit for Christmas, and I've had plan to go all-out on this CD, with a Label and a Jewel-case and everything. After listening to it, I may break with everything and make a second copy. You can ask Leslie, I just don't do that.

I'm sure you're all thinking "That's great, Andrew. It's an 'effing CD," so I'll stop here. Dinner at Colleen's (my Aunt) was nice. We had Chili, which I'm not a big fan of, but we also celebrated Sam's (my cousin) and Kenny's (my uncle) birthdays. I also started a game in FFX, though I haven't learned anything more about the storyline, expect people who can't speak english are trying to remove Sin from the world, or something.

I also played Johnny in M:tG. He used my Squirrels deck, and I was amazed -- I've never seen that deck run so well! It was like a machine, he tore my Zombies and Wizards apart. He wasn't even playing the deck to it's best potential, but he got out the engine (Symbiotic Deployment, Vernal Bloom, and a hell-load of Squirrels) and just raked me. The deck's designed to smash the opponent quick with expendable squirrels early on, so I was hanging by a thread before I could set5 up any kind of a base. He did well, and I lost about ever game we played. He's hopefully comming along to the Pre-release this Saturday.

And after that, the night's pretty much a wrap. Listened to the second half of 'Refractions' on the way home and then started on this post. Talked a bit with Louis and he thought my idea to get a Badge just for Saturday would be pretty clever. So long as I can still get crash space, I think I'm set, as I'll easily have at least one pay-check before then.

And that's that.
