So... Tell me about Tifa, Yuffie, and Cid. At least I think thats how you spell them... Those were my top 3. :-)

Well, I haven't played enough of that particular Final Fantasy to consider myself an expert, but...

Cid is, as far as I know, a gruff old pilot guy. Whether or not her works or has worked for Shinra (read: The Empire), I'm not sure, but seeing as EVERYONE in that game has a hook or three in Shinra, I'd guess yes. Cid's a good pilot, but what he'd really like to do it dirct. Er, I mean, be an astronaught and see the stars. (If Sephiroth had his way he'd be seeing stars, heh heh.) i haven't gotten to where y'get this guy yet, but he's gotta be pretty cool to be with Avalanche (read: The Returners). He likes candle-lit dinners, long walks on the beaks, and inhaling arsenic and random carcinogens (read: He Smokes). A final note, Cid is a running gag, ranging over years and years of Final Fantasy. We don't know why, but there has been a Cid in every game from FFI through FFVIII (I haven't played FFIX or FFX yet, and I think there was even a Cid in the so-called Final Fantasy Movie).

Yuffie is what she likes to call a "materia hunter." I like to call it a theif. She's modled after a ninja, quite obviously I think, especially considering what her home town looks like. She's sneaky, but mildly kind, and craves attention (ignoire her and she'll never leave you alone). But, in the end, we all know she's just after your materia (read: magicite).

And then there's Tifa. So much could be said, but I'll try to keep it pertinent. Tifa, it seems, in Cloud's childhood friend. Or was she? She must know something of Cloud's past that he doesn't, mostly cause he doesn't know much of it. that being said, she's a rather loyal friend, (with the exception of not letting Cloud in on what's really going on, maybe). She sweet, and acts as a buffer betwee Cloud and Barret when Barret just wants to rip the little worm's head off. But that's another story. tifa's also the street fighter of the group, and while she'll never equal Sabin (FFVI) in strength, she may well rival Zell (FFVIII).

On a final note, it's always seemed that none of the Final Fantasy games ever connected in any way - aside, mayhaps, for the presence of the Crystals, though they were gone by FFVI. However, my brothers have been researching it, and with a little guess work, have put together a quite convincing history. Mayhaps more on that later.
