So, let's quickly catch up before I forget it all.  ^__^

Uhm, yesterday I think we did something... Uhm, I went out to get an eye exam, which I've been overdue for, and they told me I had an astigmatism in my left eye, which I already knew. Needless to say, my right eye is dominant, and better at seeing than my left, but neither one is very good at all unaided.  ^_^;;  Almost makes me wonder how I survived the first 11 years of my life. Still, no one can ever see a Christmas Tree quite the way I can...  ^___^  The new contacts I got are monthly disposables like the last, but these are some new 'breathable' contacts, so I'm allowed to fall asleep with them if I want. I may try that out tonight. We didn't get glasses cause mom wants to see what prices on the base look like. I definitely want new frames, though -- I've developed a new fondness for glasses in general recently, but I don't like the frames I have, much. Maybe something a bit more eliptical...

We also saw "The Santa Clause 2" last night. Kate told me it got ripped, and I can safely say I see why.  >_<  I will admit there were some pretty decent parts, but most of the movie was 'eh.' And they messed up my two favorite characters from the first one, Bernard and Judy. I've been told that apparently we own "The Santa Clause," so now I want to sit down one night and watch it before I leave. I rather enjoyed the original.
As far as the second one goes... Well, if you wait until it comes out on video, and then have a Free rental to use, I'd say go ahead and see it. Nazi-Santa alone is worth that much.  ^_^;;  As for me, I think I got my money's worth. But then, I saw it for free on the Base, so...

That brings us to today, I suppose... Made a couple MtG decks for Tim -- with his new cards I was able to make two half-decent decks instead of the one rough-shod 5-color construct he had had. They played pretty well, I thought. Mom went out to the store while I heated up the Wedding Soup (a Christmas Tradition) which we were going to take to Kathleen's. Necessarily, then, we headed out to my Cousin Kathleen's house, who's one of my favorite cousins (Mocks excluded), even if she is the same age as my mom (technically, she's a First Cousin Once Removed, but 'cousin' works just as well). Her kids are Chris and Delaney (who just turned 11). Delaney's another one of my favorite cousins.  ^_^  Needless to say, I like going to their house.

Anyways, we were going there for a kinda post-Christmas family get together with my mom's WestCoast branch of the family. Also there were Aunt Anne and Uncle Wes, Erin and her husband, Aunt Joanie and Uncle Bob, and their kids Julia and Anna-Louise. Anna-Louise is a really pretty little girl (even if she didn't remember who I was.  >_< ) as per Meredith, and I had a blast playing with her and Delaney. We played Foozball (or however you spell it) and I had a grand time tickling them -- Anna somehow even got a horsey-back ride from me. Chris and Greg and Tim had fun playing SS-Tricky or something, and I must say that XBox has some nice graphics. Of couse, I'm biased against anything that Microsoft comes out with, but maybe I'll give the 'Box another look over.
Food was good, with pork and potato salad and shrimp cocktail -- and pickles! Plus mom's soup, and Delaney had a nice chocolate-cherry birthday cake to boot. It was a grand time, and my family stayed and chatted and stuff with Kathleen's long after the others had all left, and Delaney and I sat around laughing at each other for quite some time. It'll be interesting to see how these girls grow up.  I love kids.

Uhm, I guess that's about it. on the way home, I decided I wanted to get Dad into MtG and Mom into Savatage, and I think there's hope in both venues, with a little bit of effort. Tomorrow we're going to see Erin's new house, which sounds cool. We're supposed to go see "Spirited Away," too, but I'm not sure if it'll work out. I really wanna see that again, and I think the girls would love it. In anycase, though...
