Well, we've had a fine Christmas this year.
After dinner and Egg Nog last night, the kids 9that means us) were hearded off to bed. As this was at about 9:00, and mom and dad didn't want us to be up until 6:00, and further knowing that I could not sleep for nine hours even on a non-Christmas night, I played Gene in a couple hours of MtG before reading for a little and then going to sleep.

Tim came in at 5:20 to get me and Gene up, and I was surprised I'd slept so late. In an attempt to kill 40min, the five of us boys tried playing a game of Magic, but with five players it gets quite clumsy, and We accomplished very little before Tim decided it was 6:00 and we went to get mom and dad up.

Once the parents and the girls were up, we went down stairs, where the children got a first look at the gifts Santa had brought them, and then had our tradition of "Baby Jesus Cake" -- that is, cinnimon rolls -- before opening the gifts under the tree. Always trying to do things orderly, we went one-at-a-time from youngest to oldest opening presents. All told, four of the others (including mom) got CD players, and this I find humorous.

I did well enough for myself. Among a few other things, I got a nice suitcase, a jacket, a CD-labeling set, FotR Special Edition DVDs, a Trigun DVD (oddly enough eps 8-10), Playschool Starwars Toys (Vader is AWSOME), three Religious-type books (including the Catechism of the Catholic Church), a new Keyboard, and some MtG cards (for those who care, notable cards would be Aphetto Dredging, Fallen Cleric, Centaur Glade, Fleeting Aven, Aphetto Vulture,Gluttonous Zombie, Explosive Vegitation, Mana Echos, and Death Match).

We also (as a family) got a wireless Network set, The Sims Delux Edition, SimCity3000, AoE: Age of Myth, 20th Anniversery Trivial Pursuit, and Cranium, the last two which I hope to play (seeing as we easily have 6-8 participants) sometime later today. As far as other plans today go, we're off to Mass in a couple hours, then we're looking to watch a marathon of Classic Christmas Movies, and finish the whole thing off with a nice Prime Rib Dinner.

My best wishes to all of you,
and may you each have a grand Christmas Day.
