...a little bit TOO ironic...

jackofallgeeksSometimes I think God has a very ironic sense of humor.
I like that in a guy.
So, after finally deciding to go to Dinner, even though it was North and even though it was 6:10 (The worst time to go to dinner), I get there and there;s tablecloths and everything - really upscale, for North. AND a line for food - another oddity. I see Joelle in the line (one of the people from the Retreat who I never get to hang out with) and I say 'I don't get it' to which she replies 'Thanksgiving.'
That's right, North was having a formal Thanksgiving dinner, and when North does something formal, the food is almost decient. Turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes you can eat - even these great little dinner rolls that were not burned! I was stunned.
Anyways, I get my food and do my normal dinner thing - look around for someone I 'know' (which excludes Joelle, in any case, but she had vanished somewhere) and finding no one, sat by myself.
^_^;; It's really not as bad as you'd think, eating alone...
But then Jim (another of the Retreat People) came by and sat down next to me (*gasp*) and then called Joelle (she's his girlfriend) over, and Gabe came and sat with us, and Raul, and a few other people, and we had a wholew dinner group kinda thing going. ^_^;; It really kinda made my night.
Talking with them also made me feel better about my living arangements. Jim said he's been getting 4 and 5 hours of sleep, and Gabe said he averages out at about 7, the same as me (Joelle said 9, but she's weird anyways...).
Then another girl was talking about her roomie, Aria... The girl sounds like a disaster. >_< She's sick with the flu, which isn't cool, but she's making sure EVERYONE is painfully aware of it at all times. She's boiling her roomie by turning the heat up too high, and isn't having the common decency to cover her mouth when she coughs. AND, just the other night, her roomie went to bed early (cause she's sick, too), and Aria woke her up at 2:30 to turn off some 'little lights around the room.'
So I feel a bit better, generally, after having dinner with these people, and specifically about my sleeping-schedual and room accomadations.
