I liked work today.
Well, not Work itself, but the lack there-of.
Carla was in charge t'day - No Lenox, no Karen, no Kevin, just Carla. And Carla's cool.
First off, I was down in the Galleries, but I was in Imagination (the 'easy' gallery) and so I got alot more reading done t'day. It was another slow day, except that we had one group come in at 1:00 - which I thankfully dodged cause they had me relieve Tiffany from the Book Store at 1:20 and then was given my own break until 2:00, so by the time I was back in the Galleries, they were gone.

As a down side, the Book Store had a little episode t'day, while I was there. SAee, the book store is easy cause everything scans. You scan the tags, they give you the money, and we all go home happy. The first sale I had was a piece of cake - almost-exact change and everything. The second was another breeze, of course, and I was going fine sitting there, reading my book, and all was cool. Then came the third transaction.

First off, I would like to point out that while I've seen quite a number of stupid visitors, these guys took the cake. They HAD to be tourists, just by the behavior they exibited. Anyways, they give me a large pile of things and say "That's it," so I start scanning. The first few things go OK, but a couple didn't scan - no problem, there IS a manual way to do it. So I set those aside and scan a $41 blanket. And the guy says "Oh, that's $41?" Yeah, that's what the tag says. So he decides to skip it, at which point I have to rescan everything and do it all over. Then I finally get the items in manually, and the guys says "That came up as $15."
Yeah, that's how it's in here in the system.
"But the tag says $10."
OK, no problem, I'll refund you the difference, $5.
"But there's a 30% discount on it."

Now then, 30% is roughly one-third. As such, it makes perfect sense to ME that if the system says $15 and the tag says $10, then the $5 must have already been applied, right? So he goes over to the stand, and then says that THAT says $7.
But wait, get this - not only does he decide to point all these discrepensies out NOW, but he's already paid, by credit card, and I have no idea how to refund his money, short of handing him cash from the drawer. And since he's now getting imatient and claiming that they're "running behind," I call Carla over for assustance, and even SHE doesn't know how to refund it once it's gone through.
Just then Tiffany got back and I scurried out of there. I was later told that just as I left, the Register crashed. Joy. :-D

On my 6ft walk to the cafe, I bumped into Marisa and the two of us sat t'gether for lunch. We chatted about a number of things, from Sophmore Retreat in a couple weeks, to the Dining Hall ripping us off, to stupid visitors in the book store. It was cool. Also found out that she's 1 of 6 sisters or something, and she's got a Twin here at CUA (that, of course, I already knew).
Later on, me, Julia, and Desi (my old RA who volunteers at the Center) just stood around talking for a couple hours - there were no visitors, and Carla didn't care (she even joined for a lil bit). I wanted t'go give Marisa some company (cause Julia and Desi could've occupied themselves) but by the time I got around to it, Desi was leaving anyways, and we only had some 30min till we left. I helped her clean up, anyways, and then we walked back here to Campus t'gether.

I stopped in my room just long enough to grab a few things, then hopped into the Car and headed for my Aunt Susie's house. We were all getting over there to celebrate Gamma and Susie's birthdays (the 15th and 16th respectively). Susie's only 13yrs older than me (making her 33 now) which means I'm closer to her (agewise) that two of my little sisters. ^__^ Isn't it grand?
dad was there, and Johnny and I played some Magic (he won - kid's getting good). Had chilly and home-made corn bread, with honey butter. Grandpa was yelling at the Game cause the Redskins were getting whooped (surprise surprise). It was really cool. ^_^

And then I came back here and recoded it all. I work this weekend, I'm on Retreat the Next, then Nekocon the weekend after that. then I should have a Work Weekend again, then Ohio, and when I get back from THAT, it'll only be twoo weeks until the end of the semester! It seems so close! We just finished midterms, ack! Oh well, I'm sure it'll streach out for all eternity, like it always does. Whee!

I've been told by Claire that the Original Vampire Hunter D is alot better in Japanse (which should be self-evident, really). So now I want to see a Subbed D and the new one (which still looks really, really good - nice crisp art and everything). If I only had money....

Heh heh, that's a case of my fingers typing and my brain not keeping up.
"Because I always want to be clean. Sometimes."
