More Cellular Memory
Apr. 10th, 2008 09:55 amHokay, so, This
Article is a bit more sensationalistic than I tend to find credible, but
it references the earlier article on Sonny Graham that I mentioned last week
or earlier this week, having to do with cellular memory. The article itself
leans heavily on the almost-laughable idea of "transplanting a soul," and it
loses points with me there. But they do note more interesting cases:
-The singer/songwriter who's transplant recipient finishes the lyrics to his
songs without ever hearing them before
-The lesbian fast-food glutton who turns straight and can't stand meat after
a transplant from a boy-crazy vegitarian
-The husband who took up interest in gardening, shopping, and dogs after a
transplant from his wife
They note "over 70 documented cases," which makes me laugh to think of the
thousands-upon-thousands of transplants without anything documented, though
that really just means that, well, nothing was documented.
They also amusingly note that the Chinese government is taking an interest
in this case, and note that many 'donations' in China come from executed
political 'criminals.'
And, of course, there's the point made that science hasn't been able to
define or pinpoint conciousness, so the idea that it's encoded throughout
our bodies is as good as any, if you ask me.
