So awhile ago I finally saw "Amelie" and aside from really enjoying the sweet romantic comedy, I kinda fell for Audrey Tautou; she's really, really cute. Toward that end I added a few other movies she stars in to my Netflix queue.
I just watched one called "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not", a story about an affair and obsession, with Ms. Tautou as 'the other woman.' The first piece minutes of the movie -- the 'affair' part -- was rather mediocre and, as that bit was summing itself up I began to resign myself the the fact that this was probably just an 'ok' movie. Once the movie got into the second movement -- the 'obsession' bit -- it began to frighten me in ways that very few other movies have.
Now, I like to be frightened, and willingly and happily watch horror movies (despite what one might gather from my protestations). But this wasn't really a 'horror' movie. It was very much in line with "What Lies Beneath" or some similar 'suspense' movie, but with a much more subtle force to it. I highly recommend it.
